Welcome to the forum
We pray you do find friends, enjoy the fellowship, Bible Study, Devotions and prayers.
I do understand what it is like to have extreme trust issues, I trusted no one but myself, because I was the only one that wouldn't hurt me!
It takes time to come away from that, people do hurt us, people do let us down, we trust them and end up paying the price, but not everyone is like that.
Jesus changes our heart and helps us, Trust starts with God, the Holy Spirit will work on our heart, just Trust in the Lord...
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Thank you, I like that verse but kind of hard to do I think.

It is hard because what is submitting? How do you submit? How do you know the will of God? What is the will of God? I don't have any understanding so I do not lean on mine and clearly whatever I thought was God's will has clearly not been, so yes, for me it has been hard. Only disappointment, indifference, injustice after another is all I've been dealt.It may seem hard but it is not really, Trusting in God is submitting to Him, that is what he wants of us.
James 4:7-8 (NKJV)
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Romans 8:28-31 (NKJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
James 4:10 (NKJV)
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
We have to choose to submit to God for the process of learning in order to grow spiritually. It is a process which starts at salvation and is ongoing with each and every choice that we make to submit ourselves to God. This process will continue until the Lord comes again or He calls us home.
Jesus says, Abide in me and I will abide in you, John 15
We cannot abide if we do not submit, if we submit God can work in us and through us, if we don't we create a barrier. As we submit to God who called us, whom He called, we are justified through Faith, we are Blessed.
James 4:8 (NKJV)
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Kind of sounds like what Christ went through during His earthly ministry. He even said that we'd be going through those things. However, how we go through them is important, and also knowing that we're not alone in going through them.It is hard because what is submitting? How do you submit? How do you know the will of God? What is the will of God? I don't have any understanding so I do not lean on mine and clearly whatever I thought was God's will has clearly not been, so yes, for me it has been hard. Too often what we think in rejoicing or being at peace some how means that we won't go through the tough times, or somehow we'll be except from them. The peace and joy are in spite of the hard times. For we are changed and in so realize that this time is worth going through for what lays ahead for the faithful.
So, stay faithful, because our treasures are not in the here and now, but in the tomorrow that is so awesome, we can't even imagine how it will be and what we are in store for!!!!
Off to take care of the wife. You're not alone!!! :shades:

Hello Beloved,Thank you, for your encouragement. I know that i'm not exempt from trials and that following Christ doesn't mean I'll never get hurt etc. But it would be nice to have a break. And everything you've shared I agree with, logically I know this, just kind of hard to not see any fruit of my turmoil. Anyways not trying to be a Debbie downer, negative Nancy, or a Karen. No offense to any btw.
I did want to ask about peace. What is peace and how do you retain it? :/ sigh.

Thank you, i appreciate the encouragement and perspective. I do try to understand things never considered that could be a hindrance. :/Greetings sister
Take things one step at a time, God is patient, Loving and very understanding.
He takes us as we are, and gradually makes us the people He wants us to be, he prepares us for Heaven.
TRUST, comes through faith, through believing, through praying, through reading God's Word daily.
When we are born again we have repented, accepted Jesus into our hearts, we have come to the cross in our life, we take to heart and come to understand that, Jesus shed His blood for our sins on the cross, He shed His blood for not just our sins but the sins of the whole world. We have confessed with our lips and believed in our hearts...
Romans 10:8-13 (NIV2011)
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim:
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Once we are born again the fruits of the Holy Spirit are available to us all, each differently according to our faith and love for God through Jesus.
PEACE is one of the fruits, which you asked about.
Jesus said...
John 14:27 (NIV2011)
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Which brings us back to Faith in God, Trust in God through Jesus.
Dear sister, please do not try understand everything at once, none of us can achieve that, Have Faith, Trust in God's Word, the Truth is in The Word.
Regarding Peace, it is something God gives, to some quicker, to some slower, but He gives it to all believers, it is amazing but don't try understand it, Have Faith, Trust in God's Word.
Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV2011)
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Please feel free to ask any questions, there are many brothers and sisters in Christ on here who are only to happy to give you guidance. Scriptural guidance is usually the best. The Truth is in the Word of God.
Bless you
Thank you, I do need to be disciplined with my prayer life. Since I don't see any change ive kind of given up on that but I know I shouldn'tHello Beloved,
No concerns "Debbie Downer" or Karen :smile: in what you are posting except that you return to the joy you have known in Jesus. We all experience times in our Walk with the Lord when it seems that anything that is happening in our lives, has no positive benefit to either our growth, or well being. These are the hard times, and little if any joy can be found in what's happening. Still, we should try. The trying usually requires us to change how we view what is happening, or sometimes just being patient as the the storm engulfs us and we hold tighter to the Spirit of God that dwells in all of us who call Jesus Lord and Savior.
How we come to have Peace is not really normal as the World sees it (John 14:17). It's really an acceptance of the things you cannot change, and in truth an acknowledgement that God is in control through His Spirit because of your belief in Christ Jesus the Son of all things. That whatever happens, will turn to our good, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God", even though we might not see it as it happens, or even sometimes afterwards we trust in God that it will!
You might have or not. Heard of the Serenity Prayer. I like to share it with those who are going through tough times. It's a prayer that we can send Heavenward to our mediator Jesus. Take advantage of the fact that our Lord sits on the Throne and will intercede upon our behalf with God the Father. Prayer is truly the best thing we can do when in times of trouble. Know I will be adding my with yours to our Lord and Savior Jesus, that you might find peace/serenity no matter what is going on in your life, today, tomorrow or ever!
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to His Will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him
Forever and ever in the next.
Amen.
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I know it becomes difficult with deep prayer, because it's like you're just spinning wheels without getting anywhere, but who you need to remember is the persistent woman that Jesus talked about in Luke 18. We don't know how long it will take for something to happen, or if it will happen. However, we do know that answer He will, if we ask it for His will to be done in our lives.Thank you, I do need to be disciplined with my prayer life. Since I don't see any change ive kind of given up on that but I know I shouldn't :crying:
