It seems the atheist movement is gaining a little traction as of late. Words like "one nation under God" and "for God, service and country" are under attack. There is a movement to remove "In God we trust from the US currency".

It really isn't funny, but yet I can't help but chuckle a little. If there really is no God and no afterlife... what does it matter if we Christian believe in Him? What does it hurt? Why do they feel compelled to warn us that "nothing is going to happen"? If nothing really is going to happen, why are they so worried about it?

Much along the same lines, I wonder about those who believe in "once saved always saved". If it's true, and no one can really ever get "un-saved". Then why does it matter that some people believe that they can? I would ask why the Bible is full of warnings about false teachings, false prophets, falling away, being alert, being careful to do to the things the master expects us to be doing when he returns. But even if all those verses don't really apply to Christians after they are saved.
Why does it bother some people? If you can never really fall away no matter what... then why does it matter that I might believe you can? Why warn people that "nothing is going to happen"? What are they so worried about?

If on the other hand, there really is a Jesus/God and there really is a heaven and hell and and after-life.
Then Christians need to beware of atheists, and warn people about them.

Also if it is possible to fall away from the faith, and there are things that can keep even those who believe in Jesus out of heaven. Then Christians need to make others aware of this also.

Either way, it seems that Satan is trying to get some of us to go back to sleep and just not not take any heed of the warnings.

2 Corinthians 4:4 (NASB)

4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

I did a quick search of "the weirdest religions".

Some are pretty far out there, there is an island in the Pacific that worships prince Phillip as God.
There is a Czechoslovakian church called he Universe people that telepathically talk to people of other planets.
The is even a Jedi force religion (yes from Star Wars).. never mind that George Lucas who wrote Star Wars says it's completely fictional.
(Did "the force" exist before 1977?)

We as Christian might say these are to absurd to even consider as being real religions. Apparently the atheists feel the same way.
I've never heard of any movement saying quit showing Star Wars movies or never mention prince Phillip again.
Why don't the atheists warn these people "that nothing is going to happen"? Why do they focus on Christianity?
