Does there seem to be a general trend away from God these days? Maybe I am just realizing this but it seems like there are more and more people saying they have "outgrown" their belief in God, and that the idea of Jesus being our savior and the son of God is just a myth arising out of ignorance. Many of them are compassionate people who do good things, but they have this "new age" viewpoint that they have somehow transcended into a more intelligent realization. It is kinda scary... Is this what the prophets have foretold? What do you say to these people? My son is like this and it worries me deeply.

They know God exists. For Romans 19 says "They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Thought everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature." - Deep in their hearts, they know the truth about God, but they say they do not know him. They are hiding from God, because they want to do "worldly" things, such as drugs, sexual desires.. They make up excuses to avoid God. Hence the introduce of the theory of evolution - it's a clever and a cruel way to avoid God, by making people believe that we evolved from apes, so that people say to themselves - nothing to worry about, there is no such thing as God! Let's enjoy lives!

Your Son may has a worldly desire that you do not know about. My advice to you is to pray for him. God will work in him in a mirculous way.

Also this verse might help: "Even, if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will wpeak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives" 1 Peter 3: 1-2 (Althrough it is for wives, but I believe this is true for any cases"

Hope this helps.
Joshua.

I feel these people cannot see the forest because there are so many trees in the way. I look around at the earth, life, space, all existence, and think... How can they claim to know that God is a myth? They have forged a belief that the information given to us by our human brains is the only reality. Yet we are all incapable of grasping fundamental concepts like the origins of the universe or the intricacies of life. They dismiss these things as incidental, and say "it just is... nothing more." My son thinks I am an old fool for believing in God.

I so agree, they say to sin is easier, isn't it strange there are apes around that forgot to become man/woman?

your no fool, your son is the fool, 'the fool has said in his heart there is no God. Psalm 14 v 1 Psalm 53 v 1.

I heard it said the other day, think it may have come from TV that they now believe Jesus was not crucified at that I walked away, can't stomach that talk.

I live with one also, my husband, unsaved, but our God is able.

I know I am not a fool... It just hurts me to hear him talk about God and Jesus the way he does. He is an adult and has formed his opinion, but I love him and pray that he will open his mind and heart some day.

2 Thess 2:3 talks about a "falling away" apostasia, falling away from truth.

The true church will know blessing and increase in these days. But the nominal church will know a falling away. Not the numerical falling away of church attendance, but an 'apostasia' a falling away from biblical truth

It is apparent today

I know too how it hurts when they won't recognise the Lord.
So how much more does it hurt Him, much much more.

Our prayers will lift them before His throne, they won't go unanswered but patience is needed, the Lord needs to know we will also have patience with them, only He can give this to us as we wait on Him.

Yes, it is true. People are willfully and stubbornly rejecting God and living their lives as they like. Sometimes, animals behave better than the way many people behave. The Apostle Paul explained this very same point, very clearly and very simple in Romans 1:18-32.

But the point is, it is not a trend that has come up now-a-days. The same trend existed right from the time Adam sinned, but the only point is, people are becoming more and more evil and inventing new ways of sinning. So, don't be surprised.

It is all happening because Jesus is coming back, very soon. He can come at any moment, but He will come when least expected.

God bless you.

It does seem that now more than ever, the world is filled with nonbelievers. But please know in your heart that your son still can be saved. There's hope. I was 32 years old before I was born again. Just keep praying for him and continue not only telling him about Jesus Christ, but living the good life so your son will SEE Jesus through you. God bless you and your son, friend.

I was 49 to my shame before I was awakened.

It's only when you look back that you can see wasted years, but at the time I was totally blinded, and deaf to the word of God, even to an extent that I didn't want to know anything.

I am not going to give the devil credence here.
But it is only with the enlightenment of the Lord's Holy Spirit that we are awakened. Praise the Lord

John 15 v 26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

I posted this the other day for those that wish to learn more about the new age movement.

Scriptural Answers - Talk Jesus

Our first priority is to pray faithfully in Jesus' name. We tend to forget to give it all to GOD and pray for His will, instead we try to solve problems outside our ability to do so.
