Obama and the Antichrist Stage

Immediately after Obama got elected, all africans were swept away by the euphoria of his presidency, and even here in Nairobi,as an african, i saw jubilation fill the streets.

I do not believe that Obama is the Antichrist, coz the jews will have to really compromise to accept a non-jew as the messiah.(well,it could happen...we'll have to wait and see...).However,as recently as 2005,some jews believed that the messiah will be the one who rebuilds the temple.

But Obama proved to the world, especially to christians, that you can be elected to office purely because of your charisma and your oratory.( i have had my heart in my mouth ever since the world started clamouring after Obama.)

The bible says in the book of revelation that men"will wonder in astonishment after the beast",and will exclaim"who is like the beast? who can war against him?"

Obama makes an entry into office in the midst of two wars, one in Iraq, the other in Afghanistan.

I will not be surprised if some "Illustrious warring figure" comes into prominence by seeming to help the Obama Administration end these wars.Such a leader would astound the world as a "military genius" just like the beast.

Let us keep watching.

War seems to be the identifying mark of this beast,"...and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest...."The other beast is a religious figure wooing the world with miracles..."even causing fire to come down in full view of men."

Is Obama an Antichrist stage?

I agree with you. I think its possible Obama is the anti-christ, but we'll have to wait and see. One thing for sure, prophecy will be fulfilled rapidly one after another it seems.

hmmmm

Now Ivy, it seems to me that the revelation riders are actually equipped as a result of God's own permission, because they are called forth by one of the living creatures one at a time. This does not mean that they are God's friends.

Remember the book of job, satan actually negotiates with God for job.I have a funny feeling that the same happens in revelation and will happen in the near future(..it might have already happened...) Satan must beg God to allow him to rule the earth, and God can only consent when the "great rebellion" against God that Paul spoke of occurs. This "rebellion" was to be one of the signs of Christ's coming.God in his love for mankind must be fighting to keep the Antichrist off the world stage, delaying the inevitable.

The revelation riders are demonic.Only demons can be trusted by lucifer himself to carry out such end-time goals through their human agents. The reason they ride out together is clear that they act as a team.

They seem to ride out in stages as they are equipped, perhaps to symbolise that their effects will occur on earth in those stages.

In Daniel,as a human persian ruled over the earth, spiritual "princes" calling themselves "rulers of persia" ruled the atmospheric heaven over persia. It is clear that the Antichrist spirit Paul so frequently spoke of will have a human representative on earth.

It is interesting that a certain christian website reports that one of the demons sent to the White House before the election is actually called an "Ambassador to the White House".It works together with the Principalities ruling over America and the U.K.This demon seems work to control the affairs of the White House and the presidency.(..seems scary to me...)

If Obama is not the Antichrist,he might very well be that platform that the beast needs to rise to global recognition.Obama seems more intent at domestic policies than global ones, especially because of his hatred of the Iraq war. What better way for the Antichrist to rise to prominence but as a "warring leader" helping America correct its mess?

I agree. However, what I think is more significant is that Obama is indicative of the "type" of leader who will be in place when the anti-Christ is revealed.

We are told that all of the kings in that time will give their power over to the beast. It definitely takes someone like Obama (someone with the spirit of anti-Christ) to be united enough with the actual figure himself in order to give him all power.

As I look around at the landscape, it just seems more and more apparent that Jesus' return is imminent. Praise God!

Just a reminder

Eph 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

the riders in the book of revelation r on Gods side. If satan has his beast, God for sure has his followers. The book of revelation speaks of God' s followers as well. We would know the beast when the time comes. We should not get into the trap of figuring out the wrong person. It is good to predict but should remain just a prediction or a guess. True or false it would remain a guess rather than judgement of whom a person is. We would know the book of revelation when the time comes. It is written for the followers to know. Much the same as the coming of christ has been written before he was born so have the coming of the beast and the riders. So if the riders r on Gods side we should not go against what is on Gods side as the wrongs done by the scribes who forgot what the scriptures spoke the messiah and the pharisees and saducces crucified him. Let us not think of only the beast but also the involvement of the lamb of god and his folowers in book of revelation. So that we know it will be a war of good and evil at the end between the people of God and those who belomng to evil.:lightbulb

He could be a anti-christ but I do not think he is the anti-christ.

1Jn 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Who is the beast? rev gives us a glimpse of him and where he may be coming from.

Here the angel is telling us the mystery of the beast....

Rev 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

Pay close attention here below...

Rev 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Rev 17:9 And here [is] the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

And here as well....

Rev 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, [and] the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

So this last beast or King, could likely be a resurrected man. As it says he had a deadly wound by a sword but it was healed. It also says he was, and is not, but will ascend out of a place called the bottomless pit, then afterward go into destruction. So i highly doubt that Obama or any man alive today is the beast of revelation, or Daniel. Paul said that this man of sin, son of perdition, must be revealed in his time. 2Th 2:6

And as far as the ten horns, they have no kingdom until the beast shows up.

God bless

Over the years I have heard some really varied views on the anti-christ and Revelations. Most were well thought out and seemed very convincing but I think we will all have at least some surprises, LOL!

Well some theologians think it will be Nero, in order for that to happen he will have to come back to life someway, either by resurrection or spirit. And if it is not Nero, that angel is basically saying it will be a king of old.

last time i seen Obama he didn't make me wonder if my name was written in heaven or not But to each his own, just be careful of false accusations of world leaders, or anyone as the anti-christ. Unless he fits the bill of scripture.

God bless all

A challenge:

Give me the name of any highly influential figure in the past 500 years and I am pretty sure that I can find an accusation somewhere that he or she is the antichrist or a type of the antichrist. This label has been thrown at all the twentieth century American Presidents, religious leaders, Batman, Mother Teresa, Paul McCartney and Albert Einstein. Abraham Lincoln has not been left out.

Who has been spinning the Obama, antichrist story? His political rivals. Politics is a dirty business, we all know; this is a cheap trick.

There is a certain obsession with this issue and I am concerned that it detracts from the gospel. A search for "obama, antichrist" brings up over 1 million web pages. What a shame that the time and energy has not been spent doing the things that the Lord requires: witnessing to Christ Jesus, caring for the poor, loving our neighbour, visiting the sick, being a light to the world, praying for each other.

I am sure that has something to do with it for some. I would also venture to say that there is something supernatural about Obama's rise to power. Do I think he is the Antichrist? No, but he shares that same spirit.

Also, here are many aspects to the Gospel and to being a witness. Jesus instructed us to do all the things you mentioned. He also tells us to watch, especially as we see that day approaching. I think it would be an error to say that someone attempting to "watch" is doing so to the exclusion of the other aspects of testimoning about faith in Christ.

Lookng For the antichrist

I remember back in the '80's, when the thing people said was: "Ronald= 6 letters Wilson= 6 letters Reagan= 6 letters", and so they believed that he was the Antichrist. This was based on a lack of biblical knowledge. When the apostle John wrote Revelation, he did not write anything at all about 666 (three-sixes).

If Obama were from Europe, of Jewish descent, and heading a 10 nation European Union (revived Roman Empire), and united the entire world , doing away with war, poverty, famine on a global scale; and if a very charismatic and influential religious leader were performing miracles and attributing them to the belief that Obama was Jesus returned to earth for the millennial reign; and if Obama were instituting a world economic system of a cashless society; and if he were actively speaking against true Christians, desiring to capture and kill them... If Barak Obama were to do all these things, then I would say: "Yes, he is the beast!" But otherwise, its the ramblings of the biblically-ignorant.

My understand of the antichrist comes from the letters of John. John's teaching consistently says that the antichrist is the one who denies that Jesus is from God.

1 John 2:22

Barak Obama does not deny that Christ has come from God, so he cannot be the antichrist.

This does not mean that Christians cannot find fault with his policies and values. And it does not mean that the church should not make its voice heard to stand for biblical values.

He is the most pro aboriton president in the history of the USA and makes no bones about it. Those who voted for him knowing this will have blood on their hands.
As far as anti-christ- the lost fleshly man is always anti-Christ and I am pretty sure he fits in that catagory. I am willing to bet in 4 years we will be able to look at his record (something he does not have up to now) and demonstrate the charactor being implied in this thread but then only time will tell.

No real surprise that the antichrist debate has come down to abortion and gay marriage.

I am pro-life and and oppose gay marriage, but have to recognise that Bible says absolutely nothing about either of these issues in regard to the spirit of the antichrist.

This is a piece I picked up from the AJC. I like the way the author takes a constructive approach to talking about reducing abortion rather that lining people up in opposition along pro-choice, pro-life lines.

Surely whatever our political stripes we can agree that the goal of reducing abortion by 95% is a noble one.

Reducing abortions: The time is ripe to break old stalemate

By ALEXIA KELLEY

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Abortion has been the grand battle in our nation’s culture wars for more than three decades. After years of polarization, a new consensus has emerged that can unite Democrats and Republicans behind a comprehensive abortion reduction agenda that addresses the connections between poverty and abortion. President-elect Barack Obama is well-positioned to help push this effort as a leader focused on pragmatic solutions and finding common ground.

Many people of faith who voted for President-elect Obama believe deeply in the sacredness of all human life and see abortion as a profound moral tragedy. They are eager to partner with his administration to break new ground and forge real solutions to prevent abortions. They also recognize that all aspects of society — government, religious communities and the private sector — should be doing more to provide creative solutions in addressing the root causes of abortion.

The time is ripe to break the abortion stalemate. A post-election poll conducted by Public Religion Research, and sponsored by Faith in Public Life, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good and Sojourners, found that the vast majority of voters — including 81 percent of Catholics and 83 percent of all voters — want elected officials to reduce abortions by working together to prevent unintended pregnancies, expand adoption opportunities and increase economic support for vulnerable women.

A national study commissioned by Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good found that abortion rates are significantly lower in states that provide robust economic assistance to low-income families, quality child care for working mothers and in places where employment figures are strong.

Let’s be clear. It’s a mistake to think about abortion and social justice as competing priorities. Abortion is a social justice issue that must be understood within the context of strategies to combat poverty and to create a truly pro-family economy that respects life. Anyone who doubts that making sure workers earn living wages or that families have health care won’t also help prevent abortions should remember that the abortion rate for women living in poverty is more than four times higher than for women earning 300 percent above the poverty line.

While the president-elect supports a woman’s right to choose an abortion, his commitment to poverty reduction, affordable health care and addressing the root causes of abortion is encouraging. On the campaign trail, Obama spoke often about the moral dimensions of abortion and emphasized the need to bring elected officials on both sides of this divisive issue together around shared goals like preventing unintended pregnancies.

For the first time, the Democratic platform includes specific language that references the essential role social and economic supports play in reducing abortion. Obama has also reached out in an authentic way to Catholics, evangelicals and other religious Americans even on polarizing issues. This bodes well for continued dialogue, and the potential for new coalitions and fresh solutions.

A comprehensive abortion prevention strategy is required if we hope to make real progress reducing the number of abortions. This approach must address the economic and social issues that data clearly shows reduce the abortion rate both in the U.S. and globally.

Consideration of these policies has been missing from both sides of the abortion debate. This is beginning to change. Several bills in Congress now, including the Pregnant Women’s Support Act, seek to address these realities. Reducing the abortion rate by 95 percent in 10 years is an essential and achievable goal.

Research tells us what works. Voters are looking for a new path forward. The question is, do we have the political and moral will to make it happen? People of faith have a particular responsibility to both collaborate with and challenge the new administration. It’s long past time for all of us to move from rhetoric and division to results.

Mr Obama has vowed to remove all restrictions on abortion. He is proposing a billion $ plus "bailout for the abortion mills. This is a big $ industry and there is a huge trade in the parts from these murdered innocents. They are used in everything from makeup, shampoo, vaccines and medical uses. This nation has sadly become a Frankenstien nation, Hitler would be proud.
Then there is his promised repeal of partial birth abortion in which the baby is pull 3/4's of the way out of it's mom and the base of it's skull punctured. The childs brains are suctioned out as it dies in convulsions. Why is that procedure so popular in abortion clinics? Because they get more $ when the body is intact.
Eliminating poverty is a good goal but Jesus Christ Himself promised we would always have the poor with us. Abortions occur in rich families as well as poor. To many it is an after the deed form of birth control. Taking money from one family and giving it to another is not the job of the government- making sure everyone has the same access to opportunity is. As far as these deeds being "antichrist"; a tree is known by the fruit it produces.
Then there is the question of which Christ Obama call his master (if any). That hate filled preaching he gladly sat under for almost a quarter of a century was not proporting the Lord Jesus Christ but a false christ.
I do not contend Mr. Obama to be the anti-christ but I certainly believe he will prove himself an anti-christ. I base this on the facts that he supports ungodly policies and is a man of the flesh which again is always antichrist. And also on his ability to control crowds with little more than hot air and no facts. He is a master manipulator. Then there is his seeming almost complete control over the media. I have seen the press actively campaign for a candidate before (which is a disgrace for any news agency) but these people were mesmerized and "had shivers running up their legs"- this type of control is something I would expect out of an antichrist.
I am simply stating my opinion on this and I (sadly) believe time will bear this out.
But again a tree is known by the fruit it produces so if I am correct that tiger will quickly show his stripes. In the mean time articles like that propaganda that was just posted will do little to change the facts.
