He also said to His disciples: “There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods. So he called him and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.’ “Then the steward said within himself, ‘What shall I do? For my master is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg. I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’ “So he called every one of his master’s debtors to him, and said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ And he said, ‘A hundred measures of oil.’ So he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ So he said, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’ So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light. “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own? Luke 16:1‭-‬12 NKJV

Those of us of a certain age, may reflect, oh dear, how many bad choices did I make? Oh the compromises, the years straying.... what was I thinking?

God is not like an earthly employer, asking Himself, what benefit have I received over the years for paying his wages? No our God is more concerned with what's in front of us than behind us.

It's never too late to turn your life around, re-dedicate your life, affections and purpose to God. Time and again Jesus drove this message home with the parable of the prodigal son Luke 11:13-52 and the parable of the vineyard workers Matthew 20:1-17 and others.

When God called you, He knew you all your weaknesses, He knew you'd let Him down and yet still He called you. God is not disappointed with you, he knows you inside out, He knows your past, present and future and He loves you dearly. He never has 2nd thoughts or regrets about calling you, not even about sending His son, Jesus to die for you, He looks forward to one day welcoming you into His Kingdom.

So OK at some point you turned you turned your back 180 degrees from sin towards Jesus, and then later another 180 degrees back to sin. Today, right now is time to do another 180 degrees back to Jesus back to Jesus and back to living a full Spirit blessed life.

God bless you

Thats me to a T! A long story but I could write a novel the size of war and peace with all the upheaval, mistakes, sin, laziness, missed opportunities romantically and career wise, the list is almost endless. And yet here I am today in worship and praise mode every day. What a merciful God he is!
