I guess I'm dating myself but was wondering who here is from the pre 1999 music scene ?

I haven't bought or listen to too much Christian rock/rap since the late 90's, but when I did I was into it up to my ears.

My inventory of music was vast >

Rock ......................................... Rap/Tech. :

Barren Cross....................................P.I.D
Bloodgood .....................................Michael Peace
Rez Band .......................................D-Boy
Petra ...........................................12th Tribe
Whitecross ....................................S.F.C
Leviticus ..........................................Gospel Gangstas
Jerusalem .........................................DC Talk
Angelica ............................................Apocalypse
Stryper ...........................................Dynamic Twins
Bride ...............................................Freedom of Soul
Sacred Warrior ...............................Prime Minister
Rosanna's Raiders ..............................DJ Dove
Saint .................................................Idol King
Ruscha ...........................................E.T.W
Masterdon ......................................Scott Blackwell
Scarlet Red ......................................Worldwide Massage Tribe
Zion .................................................Zero
XL & DBD ........................................Raving Loonatics
Mercy Rule ......................................Jyradelix
Messiah Prophet
Rage of Angels
Neon Cross
Seraiah
Deliverence
Recon

Not to mention all the Carmen, Steve Camp, Michael W. Smith, Keith Green , and Ray Boltz. Whats even more sad is I still have it all on cassettes.
:shade:

A side note : not all are mentioned here.

Yes they came before 1999.The 77's came out in 1979 and Undercover came out in the early 80's.

I'm from the pre 1999 music scene as well. The only newer Christian band I have gotten into is Casting Crowns, which I'm liking. Anyway from your list I have collections of Rez Band, Petra, Whitecross and Deliverance. I am also familiar with Leviticus, Jerusalem, Mastodon and (of course) Stryper. I have also had CDs by most of the Christian Contemporary artists you listed as well (Ray Boltz, etc.). And I still have some old Rez Band and Petra LP's, and all of Whitecross's albums on cassette (but on CD as well)........

If you are still in to Petra I highly recommend their final album, Jekyll & Hyde, released in 2003. It's by far the heaviest album they ever did, and very good lyrics, etc. as usual.
