I am so ultra-excited!:star: My husband bought the dvd, "One Night With the King" while he was at Wal-Mart today. Yeah! We're going to watch it tonight if our active toddler cooperates. I'll come back in here tomorrow and edit this post by adding what we think of this movie.
Okay! Well, I did watch it, but I didn't hear but half of the conversations between the characters, because Caleb, our son, jibber-jabbered alot and played with loud toys. However, I did enjoy it and will watch it again.
It added a lot of fictitious license. Of course, the movie was written and produced from the Novel, "One Night With the King", not taken directly from the book of Esther in the bible.
The acting was good, especially that of Esther and King Xerxes, the eunuch of the King, and Mordecai.
I enjoyed the action and the beautiful surroundings of the palace. The movie definitely showed that Esther's heart was with the Lord. It depicted her as knowing how to read, (which few females did at that time.) She even recited bible stories about David and the giant, and Jacob and Abraham, to King Xerxes. Of course, that was still adding things---but we can only speculate that Esther probably was taught the Scriptures before her parents died.
