Rick and I just returned from 3 weeks of being out of town visiting our kids and grandkids. We traveled there to be with our daughter who had her baby boy March 12th, and to help out with her kids. But, she and her family are living with her in-laws, so we could not stay with them, so we stayed with our oldest son. We have 4 children who all live 400+ miles from us, but in close proximity to one another. So, we got to visit with all of our children and their families the past 3 weeks. We just got back home yesterday.
Anyway, our daughter and her husband bought a house that was being built by the local high school. So, while the house was being built, they moved in with our daughter's in-laws. Then, they had difficulty finding a property on which to put the house, and they finally purchased a property, but the house was not yet finished. I think it is now, but now they are having trouble getting the property ready for the house to be moved to it, because a large portion of the property is on a flood plain, so they have to have a tree cut down to make a path for the delivery of the house to where the truck won't have to drive over the flood plain, but then the city objected to them cutting down the tree, and the list goes on and on and on of all the obstacles they have faced along the way of them trying to get into this house. And, since the house was built by the high school, and must be moved to their property, then they still have to put in all the flooring, lights, closet shelves, etc. in order to complete the house.
Anyway, it looks now as though the tree can be cut down this week, but the guy doing it went into the hospital with something this week, so we'll see. And, then the ground has to be dry enough to transport the house on to the property, and then the weather has to be dry enough for them to build the foundation around the house before they can even get inside the house to finish it, which will take more weeks. In the meanwhile, the father-in-law is getting antsy about them getting out, for now they have added a newborn to the house, in addition to the other 2 children. So, our daughter is trying to manage a newborn, a very active toddler and homeschool her 8 year old boy while trying to keep the children quiet and out of her in-laws hair while also trying to manage the house project.
So, would you please pray for her strength physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually during this trying time? And, would you also pray for whatever God lays on your heart to pray concerning their housing situation and the situation with the in-laws?
As soon as the house is ready to be worked on, we will return for another 3 weeks to help with what needs to be done inside the house and with the kids, Lord willing. We couldn't stay down there while we waited for the house to be ready for that would not be fair to our oldest son who graciously housed us and will do so again, plus we have things we need to do back here such as dental appointments and doctor visits, etc. So, if you could, would you just pray for the whole thing, and for us, too? Pray however God leads you to pray. Thank you so much!
