For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. Proverbs 2:6-7 NLT
It’s safe to say that every Christian man has come up against life situations where he wasn’t sure what to do or what path is right for him. He wants to please and glorify the Lord, but he wonders, What is the wisest course for this situation?
If you’re wrestling with what choice would please and glorify God, take heart. The Bible instructs those who need wise direction: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind” (James 1:5-6).
Our God gave us physical life as well as new life when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is also our source of perfect knowledge and wisdom—and He gives both generously.
Prayer: Father in heaven, thank You for Your promise to grant wisdom to men of God who ask for it. I confess that I don’t always know the best course of action to take. But I know I don’t have to go it alone, for You freely offer me unlimited grace and wisdom.
