wow brillent advice ,i have a fear of being alone at night and there was a time i would not sleep at all then i asked jesus to take my fear from me and he did .There are nights when i get a nervous but a quick prayer puts a stop to that

"God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind" " Tim 1 v 7

Amen. Whenever fear shows up, and in whatever circumstance of life, we take authority over it. We rebuke it, in the Name of Jesus. We command it to leave in Jesus Name.

Amen

I fear failure and judgement. I always feel guilty and am driven by it. I have faith in God but not in myself. I fear judgement even as I write this. I never feel like I am doing enough.

I look at the list of ways of erradicating fear and although see it is all positive and fab. I just don't believe I will ever overcome my thought paterns as I know they are irrational yet still cannot break my cycle of fear. And not breaking it makes me feel inadequate too.

Some days I feel fearless but I hit the earth with a bang given the slightest bit of criticism. I feel worthless and low. On the other hand I admire everybody. I love people. I think each and every human being I meet is so valuable. I really really care about people. I want to make people happy and do the right thing. I love God. I know God has done amazing things in my life and I am so thankful.

Hello Stephen

I wanted to say 'Hello' to you from Birmingham

I had been struggling with fear for many years but recently God showed me the power of meditating on His Word and the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to minister His Truth into our hearts and it is God's Truth which sets us free. If Jesus used the Word of God to resist the temptations of the devil, how much more do we need to.

Amen sister Joy.

Hi Sleepy,

I've just noticed this thread. This is the secret for overcoming your thought patterns - Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.". Renewing your mind in the Word of God is the only way to overcome those thought patterns. Believe me, I've tried it and it works.

Dear sunshine307

This is exactly what God is showing me.
I am discovering how prayerful meditation of God's Word allows the Holy Spirit to renew our minds and strengthens our faith.
