I recieved a Word for a dear sister in Christ tonight,I liked it so much for her,I wish to share this with all of you,to encourage,to edify to build you up! When all the preaching is said and done,when all we have heard for so many comes to an end,what we will decide on, each one of us is this!! Will we overcome?
I guess first it would be helpful to understand what overcoming is? For how can one overcome anything without understanding its purpose to doing so.To prevail over,to Master! Well we sure know self cannot do this all the time!We need a lot of help in this! Having someone tell you to do it will not get us to do it! No
This comes only by having hardships, which all of us at one time have endured,or are enduring right now! ( 2 cor 12:9-10)( 2 cor 4:7-18) When we get to the final Book in the Bible,many wonder what in the world it all means! Revelations,a book, which by meaning means, to revel something unto us!
So many get wrapped up in the parts of the Book we do not fully understand,that many miss the part that is most reveling! Let us look for a moment of what I believe is the central theme of this Book! Rev 1:6 we are called Priests,this echo of something spoken in 1 Peter 2:5-10 LIVING stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a HOLY Priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices( ourself for one thing) acceptable to God through Jesus Christ!
Ok so we know we are Priests of the MOST HIGH GOD! SO?? So since we are,is it not time to act like it? You have heard many speak on Jesus,they will tell you how you are to be,but they themselves only know because someone else said this to them! Not because they are living it! Did I step on some toes?? sorry.
Many of you have a great understanding of God's Word! I see so much love in here from some of you,and in your messages as well! This as you well know we cannot have in ourselfs! Those who speak have lived what they speak! Words do not come from someone else,but from the Very Jesus they serve! We can sure tell!
Now as quick as you can turn a page out from revelations comes this.( rev 2:7) The start of the theme!Overcome! This would not be such a big deal if we only see this a couple of times here,but we see this a lot here!! Rev 2:11,verse 17 verse 26!,Then right after Chapter 2 we think well he sure made a point here!! Rev 3:5,verse 12,verse 21!! MORE!! of the same!
Then if this were not enough examples of overcoming as well!ALL through out Revelations! From the beginning of Revelation to the end of revelations, ( rev 21:7 yet another reminder! and verse 8!! to those who do not overcome!! We overcome brother and sisters by how we act, or truly believe!!
We truly tell on ourselves in this manner,we cannot help it! So we learn,at least hopefully we do! Our feeling can get into the way sometimes,we feel like God has departed,or has taken a vacation from us,or just plain is no where in site.OH YES HE IS!!( Jeremiah 23:23-24)( Jeremiah 17:10 one of my favorites!) If we have not overcome in small ways in our lives?? How can we ever overcome in larger measures?( Luke 16:10)
If we are never tested,how will we ourselves know where we stand in our Jesus? Being sorely tested does not mean you have sinned to earn this test!! Ask Job! He was in right standing!! As are many of you!! But if one never is tested how can they ever know they can pass a test in the first place? I know!! I do not like them either!!
BUT they do have purpose to them! Yes and so do we in our Jesus! Sometimes we forget to test our selfs to see if we really are in the faith! ( 2 cor13:5) So we have to get reminded at times.Never fun, until we come through this!THEN!! we can see where we really are at in Jesus!
There is also another purpose for them!! For others to see! your friends watch,they may not always say anything,but they listen to you and watch! And when you come through it,and have not spoken evil of what you are going through but being content in the fact that you know and trust in Jesus to get you out of it!! WELL!! DONE!! GOOD and faithful servent are the words from Jesus to you!
This is an over comer,they do not talk about overcoming until they have overcome, Overcomers show there faith then talk,that is what a doer of the Word is brothers and sister. ( james 1:22) I hope this has uplifted you! I hope you will consider this. For He that overcomes will inherit these things,and I will be HIS GOD and he will be my Son!!( rev 21:7 Be what Jesus calls you! ( rom 8:37-39) a conquer an overcomer! amen!
