Pastor David Wilkerson

Pastor David Wilkerson, founder of Teen Challenge, founder of Times Square Church, and co-author (with John Sherrill) of the best selling book "The Cross and the Switchblade" was killed in an automobile accident in Texas yesterday (Wednesday May 4th, 2011). His wife, whose name I believe is Gwen, was critically injured. Please pray for her and for the Wilkerson family

A memorial service for Pastor Wilkerson is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on the 14th of May at Times Square Church in New York City.

My prayers and love goes out to the Wilkerson family. His ministry have been a blessing to me and my life as a young christian. Because of his obedience and dedication towards God, he will be remembered for the many lives he have touched throughout his ministries. I always leave blessed when I exit the doors of Time Square Church.

I was able to see Teen Challenge establish in Trinidad and Tobago, and witness drastic life changes. I thank God for his life, and ask God to give his wife strength and peace.

What an amazing testimony to the power of God that man's life was. I can't tell you how I've been edified, encouraged, refreshed, and nourished by his sermons and devotionals the last two years. Truly, the Lord blessed me real good through that man's work. He's joined the crowd of witnesses now, and I thank Jesus for godly men like Wilkerson, and I pray He raises up thousands more in these last days to surrender themselves to His will in the coming tribulations.

Have received Davids newsletters for well over 20 years and looked forward to each and every one----I just thank the Lord for giving us this incredible man of God---I had the privilege of meeting him in So. Ca. and in New York----He was so hugely involved with my own personal walk and growth in the Lord---I guess it's hard to let go, I feel weak at the thought of his not being here---I often wondered how I'd feel if David left us---Truly a remarkable man of God.

Praying for the family and the Lords will for Gwen---Mostly that He take her home to Himself as painlessly as possible.

Praying for Gwen and the family at this sad time.

I met him in 1966 and we shared the platform in Sheffield City Hall. Halcyon days, I was 26 years old at that time.

why would god let him die from a automobile accident after all that he has done for us?

Our bodies are designed to die. An article in a recent Voice of the Martyrs magazine said that science has shown that up to about the age of twenty-five the human body produces more cells than it loses. But, at age twenty-five the scale begins to tip and our bodies start to lose more cells than are produced. Its God's built-in safeguard against overpopulation.

Newman----I had the same exact reaction to the news as yourself---If I had heard the news that the Lord had taken David peaceably by cutting off his life force while he was resting or something like that, I would have responded differently---But to go out in such a horrific way just numbed my thoughts---I'm like, Lord where were his protective angels, wasn't he hedged about at the time, is this the best you have for one of your choicest servants down here----And on and on---I struggled with it---I've reconciled it now though and asked the Lord to forgive me for questioning His ways---RIP David
