I believe that extreme-Pentecostalism is one of the most dangerous movements or cults in Christianity today because it deceives people into thinking they have miraculous powers which is a dangerous thing, not so much for well educated modern countries, but the poor uneducated countries who believe in superstitions and myths as though they were fact. Pentecostal Christianity has grown rapidly particularly in countries such as Africa and other places where belief in superstitions and magic are widespread. These places are prime targets for false evangelicals to raise large followings in the name of spreading the gospel, with the promise to heal the sick, raise the dead, and achieve financial success. 2 Thess 2:9 speaks about the coming lawlessness, false miracles, signs and wonders.False miracles, signs and wonders are not real miracles at all, but made up stories. The Gospel is really about saving a person's soul from hell-fire, rather than fixing all of the temporal problems in their life by miraculous powers.
Every Sunday there are claims of healings and miracles but with little evidence to support the claims, or with the truth grossly exaggerated (e.g. relief from minor backpain being exaggerated to healing from something more serious). Instead of following the crowd, a Christian has to use his God-given mind and reason, to distinguish facts from superstitions. A pentecostal church has to be willing for their claimed miracles to be verified by scientific methods, rather than relying upon hearsay, stories, rumors and myths. Without the evidence, faith is merely blind faith - but true faith involves evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1).
