According to Wikipedia, "Metadata is defined as the data providing information about one or more aspects of the data; it is used to summarize basic information about data which can make tracking and working with specific data easier. Some examples include: Means of creation of the data."
A few weeks ago, on Microsoft Outlook, which is an email program, my sent folder was changed from "sent" to "Person Metadata." So, I Googled it, and one person posted that he had experienced the same thing, and he was asking for help. No one had yet responded to his inquiry, so I tried again later, but then could find nothing on this subject. Per the definition of Metadata, would it not seem as though my sent folder is being used to collect information on me, since it is called Person Metadata? Just trying to make sense of it all. But why draw attention to it by renaming it? Any thoughts on this?
