Lately, every time I go to a major chain grocery store, which will remain unnamed, to buy cheap natural peanut butter, (that is their brand, just peanuts and salt for the ingredients),for a buck and a quarter, they are out. I have tried 3 stores, near work, halfway home, near home, out out out.
Tonight as I was savoring some from my last jar I contrived in my mind a peanut butter hoarding Michigander ... potentially the Antichrist.... that was to blame...., but the truth is, (sigh), its great stuff and a great buy and the reason I don't mention it is on the off chance anyone reading this happens to live near me I don't want you buying any more of it, I have enough of a problem as it is.
Then I thought, in the midst of my selfish angst, wow. The gospel is the greatest thing ever and there's no way to run out. There's not a moment in time or a state you can be in, so long as you have breath, you can count on Him. You dont need anything. Sure you might have to go all over the place and work hard while following and death to self may always sting at first but, when it comes to practical every day .... He's got us covered.
Philippians assures "the Lord is near! Dont worry about anything.". And for those of us that aren't worrying, we are called to do the opposite of hoarding it and we get more peace the more we give. I am continually amazed by the infinite mercy and goodness of our G-d. Praise Him. And stay way from my peanut butter.
