Dear lilyR
The best food for the soul is immersing yourself in His word and finding all the riches He has for us there.
It is such a blessing that many Christian authors are able to impart a word
Two books that I would recommend to you, because they are so spiritually challenging are:
Fiona Castle…….Living Simply
This book really challenged the way I live my life and where my Christian values really lay. Its an easy read, yet so though provoking
Brownslow North……Wilt Thou Go With This Man?
A great preacher in England, Scotland and Ireland during the 1859 revival
Also.... A Daily dose of Spurgeon…..online morning and evening readings.
A snippet from tonights reading
He (Jesus) showed us that the surest road to wisdom is not speculation, reasoning, or reading human books, but meditation upon the Word of God. The readiest way to be spiritually rich in heavenly knowledge is to dig in this mine of diamonds, to gather pearls from this heavenly sea. When Jesus Himself sought to enrich others, He wrought in the quarry of Holy Scripture.
I pray you are blessed in all your reading and learn more of our beautiful Lord Jesus Christ
Julia
He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself....
Luke 24:27.
Thank you...I will look on there.Thin Places by Mary DeMuth is in my list of books to read. Check it out on Amazon!
Living Beyond Your Feelings by Joyce Meyer is good.Answered Prayer(George Mueller) is also good.
A good book that I just started studying this week is called The Purple Book by Steve Murrell and Rice Brooks. It is a basic training and discipleship tool that we could all use to go through no matter how old we are in our walk with God.
