I am a separated mother of three boys that live with me. I have a really difficult problem that I encountered yesterday.
My boys go to the catholic school. I can't fight my ex husband over this and he insists that they go there. I was raised going to the catholic school too, however I have completely left the teaching of the roman catholic church.

Both my two oldest are in high school. They are both taking religion this semester. Sebastian, my boy in grade nine had his first day in religion. This is what he approached me with, when I asked what he learned in religion today.

1. The teacher told him that the Bible is incorrect.
2. From the teacher's talk, Sebastian thought that Mary being "mother of
God", was in the Bible. (Sebi has been taught by me, that this statement
is not true.)
3. If you break a commandment, there is no way to Heaven.

That was day 1.

Please pray that I have the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit, to teach all my children, the correct word of God, the one Word, that brings us to the
Father, through Lord Jesus Christ. Please help me teach them about Jesus.

I sure could use counsel on this difficult problem. Like I said, my ex husband
insists that they go to catholic schools. I just want to be able to teach them the difference. Man made doctrine vs. Jesus......Jesus is already the winner.!

Thanks a lot in Christ Name. Amen:Pixie:sun:

This is truly a spiritual battle you have ahead of you. I empathize with you; I know your heart must be breaking due to the fact your boys are still required by their father to attend this Roman Catholic school.

Please, Dear God, intervene in this situation and give Pixie wisdom from you to deal with the wrong things that the boys are being taught. I ask You, Lord, to intervene in this situation so that the boys will know that the Word of God is living and true! In Jesus name, Amen.

Hi there sister, I hope I could be of some help.

The most important question is, what is the gospel of the Christian?

John 3:16 and Romans 10 tells us, belief in Jesus, that is the true gospel.
If you could teach this basic lesson to your children, Jesus will keep them safe from influence and harm.

Teach them that the Bible is God's words, teach them that we are saved by grace, since no one is ever searching for God, teach them that Jesus died on the cross and that He was raised the 3rd day, teach them that He will come for those that believe in Him.

Teach them that Jesus told us to take up our cross, daily and follow Him, that we should believe in the Son of God daily.

Teach them that every person that knows Christ is a new creation.
Teach them that God shapes us and forms us,
Teach them that we have two commandments, to love our God and to love our neighbors.

Teach them that Jesus is the only way!

God bless you sister, I will pray for you.
Much love
teraside

Thank you

Thanks for your thought and prayers Dreamer and teraside. Teaching my boys the correct way to honor our Lord, has been the forefront of my life. Because I went to the Roman Catholic schools and church too, I had to spend years undoing what I learned there. I am only beginning to feel confident enough in Jesus Christ, to be able to teach the children otherwise.
I was thinking of asking Sebastian's teacher, to send me an outline of what will be taught in Sebi's school semester.
Again, thank you for your prayers and thoughts. It sure is nice to have true Christan friends. Amen and smiles:Pixie:love: :sun:

That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard in quite a long time. Whoever put this teacher in charge is likely a choice by the devil if you ask me. If you break a commandment, there is no way to heaven? Perhaps Sebi should ask this teacher if she/he is going to heaven. If they say yes, ask them if they ever broke a commandment.

Good Lord, I pray that He will guide you and take absolute full control of where your children attend school and who is teaching them. This is absolutely crazy. Remain faithful sister.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you as you teach your boys the true Word. Don't allow anyone to prevent you from leading your boys to Jesus and His gift of salvation. God is with you, and we are here to offer encouragement. I know it isn't easy, but with God's help you will do fine. May God bless you and your boys.

Just remember Prov 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

I simply want to encourage you that God is totally and absolutely sovereign in you and your boys' life. Romans 8:28 does tell us that everything works for our good if we are called according to his purpose and love him. I really believe there has to be purpose in this.

As you teach your sons yourself may your faith in God to give them the HOLY SPIRIT to lead and guide them fill your heart. May your mind rest in peace and your heart be filled with the peace that passes all understanding. God will keep them and give them inner wisdom. I know this. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding.Proverbs 3:8
If you are doing all you know to do then simply trust in God. There is no reason to despair. God is at work for his own purposes.
