please pray for this little boy - urgent

Please can you pray for a little two year old boy called Lucas who's single mother isn't coping at all well with looking after him. She is now staying with her mum, who is a Christian, but the other day unfortunately had an outburst where she verbally abused and cursed her little boy.

My friend, who is the Christian and has health issues herself, is really praying that she will know the right way forward for little Lucas so that his tender needs are met. A charitable agency is already involved and has been trying to support the single mum in her parenting but the staff at the agency are on holiday at present and and after the recent outburst my friend really needs wisdom to know what the best thing to do is. Please pray that this situation will soon be resolved for little Lucas so that he recovers from the instability and difficulties that have already happened in his short life. Please pray that he will know Jesus' healing love and protection.

Dear ((Brighthouse)) and ((Dreamer)) - thank you so much for your prayers. I have talked with the mum and hopefully she has now resolved to wait before making any decisions to move out with Lucas and take him to stay somewhere else. She is due to see a charity worker who she really trusts next week who has been working with her and has Lucas's interests at heart.

Am praying for Lucas and His mom. I'm so thankful to Hear that God has already starting working a miracle in the life of this little boy and his mother. Praise God for His hand upon them and for remember God has started a good work here and He will not stop He will keep on going and the blessings will continue.

Lord, I want to continue to lift up lucas and His mom to you and ask that the good works which you have begun for these two and their lives would continue and that your guidance, love, peace and comfort be there for all in this situation. We see Lord that things because of you are starting to turn around and we lift them up to you and asked for continued healing for each of them. In your name we pray Amen.

Thanks ((AbbysAunt)) - its a sensitive situation but with God all things are possible. I've just given an outline of recent circumstances, but I agree that really whatever decisions are made, both this young mum and little Lucas are in need of healing, support and God's love.

Just to update - Lucas's mum is going to try and see if she can get a referral to a psychologist - please pray that the Lord will open the right door. She is not a believer yet and really needs help to talk through things that happened in her own childhood that have affected her own behaviour.

I'm not surprised at the outburst. That young mother, I suspect, has felt overwhelmed and frightened for some time. Lord, we ask that your hand of healing be on little Lucas as well as on his mother and grandmother.

Please pray for strength and faith for lucas's grandmother as she tries to do her best for her family, even though she is facing rejection or abuse as she tries to help. Please pray that this traumatic situation will be resolved quickly for everyone's sake and especially lucas's sake.

To update further - the charity involved have agreed for Lucas's mum to get social housing so that Lucas and her can move into a new home together. However, in the meantime they are still at the grandmother's house and are not witnessing the behaviour of the mother who is failing to keep her son physically safe by amongst other things climb the kitchen table, and open upstairs windows to call out to neighbours. In addition, she has now threatened to kill her mother in front of Lucas.

This is putting Lucas's grandmother in an impossible situation and she is now convinced that her daugher cannot care for Lucas responsibly. She has this weekend to pray and seek the Lord for how she should proceed and she and I will be fasting for part of tomorrow.

If she goes ahead and divulges this to the charity, not only could this mean Lucas being taken into foster care (rather than her care which she would want which will be hard enough) - it could mean her daughter being informed of her doing this and she could have an angry backlash from her and be at risk of angry abuse or violence from other members of the family who already blame her for this situation.

She feels overwhelmed with the situation and desperately needs to be close to the Lord this weekend and our support in prayer.
