Pope Francis to church: Accept gays, divorced Catholics - CNN.com

"By thinking that everything is black and white, we sometimes close off the way of grace and growth," he writes.
He emphasizes that "unjust discrimination" against gays and lesbians is unacceptable, downplays the idea of "living in sin" and suggests that priests should use their own discretion on whether divorced Catholics in new marriages can take Communion.

1 Cor 6:9; Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
1 Cor 6:10; nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

I think this is partially valid. I do think some Christians and churches are somewhat unwelcoming to
gays and lesbians. We should love the sinner, but not the sin.

On the other hand, there comes a point where the church no longer calls it sin, and soon no longer
considers it sin. It's OK to be in the church, it's OK to take communion even while you do these things.

I myself am not Roman Catholic and never have been, but we should pray for these people and for the
leadership of that church. No wonder the media thinks this is "OK" and normal.

This has come long before the Catholic church ever became "wishy washy" about sin. Which has been a long time (Look at indulgences in their history for a little greater insight). Yet, I see your point in this.

I see that this just creates for those who would hold to scripture a guaranteed greater persecution to come, as well as confusion with a bit of yeast tossed in for the Catholic Church. It tells the sinner that through the church they can receive "Justification" with little importance for Sanctification or Holiness as part of their lives in Jesus Christ!

Sad commentary, but not surprising for the days we are living in.

Thanks for sharing my brother.

Discrimination, the act of making a distinction, is done by us every day whether we admit it or not. There is a fine line between a warranted discrimination in choosing what is considered best, and an unwarranted discrimination of what we think is best as a result of our selfishness. Do you honestly think the LGBT Rights people would pick evangelist Billy Graham as their Chief Spokesperson? While they can't legally refuse his application, it's a given he would never get the job. Having said that, it would also be a given that somebody who continues to abide in unrighteousness should never be a pastor or priest. But, they exist in that capacity and some seemingly without question.

The Bible states that God is not mocked, and it also says that many will be turned away at the Judgement. I guarantee God will be discriminating in choosing His children. The deal breaker will be whose will we preferred to follow.
