I ask him to play a part for me in my life everyday and try to talk to him like a friend but i guess i am to blind or self concious that i don't see what he does for me how can i become closer to him and stop all the evil sins i am doing... i really would like an honest answer please no holding back. Thank you.

Dear Total koas

I am concerned for you. We simply cannot continue in sin after becoming a Christian. I noticed that you were concerned for your girl friend. That is wise but I hope that you are also concerned for your soul and your relationship with Christ.

I thought of Hebrews 12:4. It says, "In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: 'My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you....."

You must struggle and resist the sin. You have got to pray and repent seriously. Not just have a friendly conversation with the Lord. If you will read and meditate upon Romans 8 it will encourage you and help you.

Indeed you are sinning against God and yourself and your future wife. Fight against it. REPLACE it with something that will encourage you and help you. Read the Word. Fill yourself with things that are good. Get the stuff away from you that entices you and makes it easy to sin.

As you resist, the devil will flee from you and your body will come under your control. No. It is NOT easy. But it can be done. The main thing is to realize what is at stake. Your very life's future is at stake. We do reap what we sow. Galatians 6 tells up plainly that when we sow to the flesh we will reap distruction. So I think it so vital that you read and meditate upon the truth of your situation and come to hate it. At that point you will be able to repent and receive from God. We have to hate our sin and turn from it. At that time God steps in to help.

May the LORD help you to see the truth of your situation and to seek his face and help with fervor.

Re: Porn and Other Problems

Totalkaos: Your nickname shows that you have undeserved low self esteem. Suggestion:

In the "New Members" forum on 12/4/07, Rizen1 posted an excellent message that I believe you need to print off for yourself and meditate on daily as every point she makes is true for yourself and all born-again believers. When you realize who you really are in Christ Jesus, you'll be much better equipped to deal with the problems of your life.

I have experience in dealing with addictions. Feel free to p.m. me. I'll be glad to do whatever I can to help.

thanks a lot sheperdsgrace. i'm really blessed by your sharing.

yeah i think that is the key; hating your sin and flee from every possible temptation.. i mean, we know ourselves.. what attracts us and what doesn't. i also encourage totalkaos to fast.. and really pray. because addiction doesn't heal fast..

based on my past experiences, i know that the things that i sowed were ugly.. but thanks to Jesus He forgave my mistakes. but consequences are still there, despite the forgiveness.. it's hard i know, but nothing is ever impossible if you do it together with God.. and if you really want it.

God bless you all..

I understand, because I was there

God bless you bro,

I´m david and first of all I want you to know that your father God LOVES YOU so much even with your problem, of course he wants you to change and to stop doing that but He loves you and He understands that it may be difficult to leave all that and believe me He will help you.

you need to understand that there are many causes that may have lead you to this problem, what you need to do is to find that cause or causes because there could be more than one, and find the main source of that to be able to fight it, many people could judge you or tell you to stop doing that, because they do not understand that you need to be healed, I dont know you so I cant tell you what is the main source of your problem, but you can do it with the help of the holy spirit.

first: try to remember your first sexual experiences. the sexual experiences leave like a footprint on you, maybe when you were a kid, you saw something, or something just left like a foot print on you, try to identify what posible things should have leave like a footprint on you.

second: you must quit or renounce to that experience and let God be your healer.
Keep looking for God as a father, and in his presence you will be healed, your flesh may be stronger than your spirit but if you pray, read the bible, and try to seek the lord and learn to live an spiritual life, then your spirit will be stronger than your flesh and you will be an overcomer.
if you feel temptated, try to put your mind in something else, play a worship cd, do something else and it may be helpful.

I´ll be praying for u...

love in Christ,

your bro,
david

I have delt with the same addiction since I was a young teen. Porn has really plauged my life over the years. Through the power of Jesus Christ I have come along way and the times of falling victim to it are few and far between now.

Some good advise I can give you is you cannot let the devil decieve you into believing you are unworthy. If you first commit the sin, then feel shamefull and unworthy the devil wins twice. What I am trying to say is don't let those feelings get in the way of your coming to Christ. After you have sinned immediatly humble your self and pray for forgiveness and deliverence. It used to take me along time to come back to Christ through prayer after I sinned in this way and in that time away from him the devil was busy at work. He wants to keep you from asking for forgiveness.

When a temptation does flash into your mind you need to immiediatly say "NO" and refocus your thoughts on something else. You CANNOT give it another thought. I know this can be very hard. This used to work for me maybe one in ten times but thats where the power of prayer comes in. You can't do this all on your own and trying to do so only leads to hopelessness.

The reason we need Jesus is because we are sinfull and unworthy. Don't ever give up your struggle for Christ, for that is the most worthy struggle of all.

I hope this is of some help to you.

God bless.

Thank you

Porn and Other Problems

James Dobson's site has some very good material regarding this issue.

Never, ever let the devil make you feel ashamed to ask God's forgiveness. You sound like a young christian which we all were at one point. Your flesh will always desire sin and my flesh is no better than yours. You must renew your mind through the word and ask forgiveness when you do sin. Do not let Satan drive a wedge between you and our merciful God, this is something he will try to do for the rest of your life. Through prayer and openly talking to our Lord and studying his word you will develope a greater understanding of who Jesus is and what he has done for you...you will become more and more aware of the sin in your life and your love for Jesus alone will cause you to resist sin.

Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...consider Jesus character. He is worthy. Bless his name.

You may also want to check out Pure Life Ministries on the web. There are resources for both men and women struggling with this and the numbers for Christians are not good. From their intro: "50% of Christian men are addicted to porn. 20% of Christian women struggle with pornography." They also have a weekly podcast.

We (I) need to be addicted to Jesus!
