Greetings dear brothers and sisters

I would value your prayers my heart is a little shaky

One of my daughters turns 18 on Thursday.

She is far away from the Lord hating anything to do with Jesus.
She struggles with depression, anorexia and social phobia.
She lives in university accommodation in the city and comes home at the weekend.

However, she is so excited that she can start drinking alcohol at 18, have piercings and tattoos and that I wont be able to stop her.

My main fear is that she will drink uncontrollably and put her life at risk, she is already talking about buying spirits.

Please pray for her salvation and deliverance from the darkness.

Trusting the God of miracles to do all things well

Thank you

Good morning Grace,

I do like Nicola's advice and reassurances. All I would add is to emphasise our faith is more about what we do do rather than what we can't do. A bad outcome would be for your daughter to become tee-total, celibate, poshly spoken, vegan and never to know Jesus.

Like Nicola, Plough Boy and plenty of others in TJ, I tasted sin and afterwards thought - is that it? The delights are a bit like a wedding cake in a cake shop, lovely looking but empty.

Can I in love urge you to resist conflict, laying down laws and hard and fast - 'This is my house; ya do as I say!' I know you won't but like I say, resist it. Keep chattting to her, keep loving her, reaching out and just being there. Maybe take her to the pub and have a social night together.

Promise you I'm praying that she'll be like the second son in Matthew 21:28-32.

God bless you and your daughter.

Lots of love, Andy xx

Glad to pray sister. It is hard for a mother or father see corruption creep into the life of those we love. Remember the parable of the son that took his inheritance and spent it foolishly, but through hard times, eventually saw the goodness of his father... his family and returned. Humbled and wiser! I pray that the reality of that lifestyle, she will quickly realize and return to the goodness of the Lord and her family who loves her.

Greetings sister,

Prayers assured for you and your family, all your household.

I join you and all those above in prayer in agreement, let God have full control, let His Spirit move, let the Light of Christ reveal their sins, we pray protection for you all through the Blood of Christ and in Jesus Name. Amen.

You are not alone sister, the teenage years are the rebellious years, you have to like all parents let the bird fly from the nest and wait for it to return.

From what you are saying it really does seem like the bird want to fledge the nest, she hasn't been able to do many things until she is eighteen, hence her comment, I can do what ever I want. Don't rise to the bait sister, just keep loving them and praying we are with you in prayer also. It is the most natural thing in the world for parents to want their children to be safe and not get into danger, we must look at our past and see what our parents went through with us, I was a terrible teen.

Peace be with you and your family, Fragrant Grace, Jesus loves you we do too.

It is a old saying, i used to hear, when i was a little child, when older black christian women would gather around and talk. " if i can remember, it went something like this: "Honey, when they are young, they are hanging around your knees, but when they get older, they are hanging, on your heart"!

My mother used to cry and pray, while talking to me. She would call my name, with tears in her eyes, and say; I'm praying for you and you "worry me", You ride that "Motorcycle", I told her, Mama, you keep on praying, and I am going keep on riding." And when that car hit me Head on No breaking at all! As i laid sprawled across that "highway" all of my clothes and leather torn from off of my body. I knew i was dying in that street My flesh on my leg rolled down like like a scroll, could not cry, just "pant'. I call his name, I felt like a Angel of God cover me with a blanket, and it comfort me. I going to stop there for a reason to get to a point. I did not get "born from above" then. but it started me on a about face movement. A movement of Repentance That accident happen in "1972" and i do not mean that i started to go to a church! Because i didn't trust those "hypocrites"! I felt more love and care in the world. But i was changing in the world but changing no one knew, but i did,. then in "1977" i was "born from above" and Filled with the "Holy Ghost"! and still on "FIRE"!

You cannot make your child a Child of God, Many want our children to act like one, so we train them or try to train them to act like one. 'It will not work" i know.
We must remember, our "children" are not lost when they stray away from our teachings. They are "sinners" born sinners. A sinner is never lost, they are sinners and never lost. If we claim they are lost, then lost from what. This is a hard saying, They are not born Christians, just because you taught them to be christians, does not make them a christian. Just like they where born into your family, and they had nothing to do with it. They have to be Born into the Family of God, at God's proper time. They have nothing to do with it. Now that hurts! we must realize, God is still working on us, as all of this is transpiring. "TRUST ME"! And it hurts! Must of our children are still in the dark and have not come to "Birth". So that pain is the same pain that many of us share, that tear, many of us share, the worried nights, many of us share, and not like the world shares for their own, our pain runs a lot deeper, than the world could ever know about our children that has not come to birth. We have to "Trust Him"! Lord Jesus, help us to Trust you, no matter what happens" For you know what you are doing.
Only a true child of God can get lost and stray away, and return back unto the fold. How can a person be lost if they where never "Born". from Above' := "Born from Above"=: "Born of God". a "Spiritual Birth" "Hard Truths" that many cannot except. and here is a "Jewel" "and they were "chosen before the foundation of the world"! 'Trust Him"

(1 Corinthians 2).
11For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God. 12But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual words .

14Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged. 15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, and he himself is judged of no man. 16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

And if you are a christian, and asking a question, or wondering, or feel you need to address the above text of "Holy Scripture" in a form as: 'now what does that mean' or feel you need to interpret, that which is written, it is not meant for you, speaking in kindness:pensive: My defense; "I'm just a fool for Christ" and a fool, might just do or say, just anything".:( And i do hope, there are some more fools out there, just like me, even greater! Even your SONS and Daughters!

Hi Grace, the only advice that I can give, is that you get a couple of people that you have felt Spirit with and pray with them. Only people that you have felt the Spirit with, because where two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus he is there with you. Jesus wouldn't be with you both, unlesss you were both living stones. Anyone you have not felt the Spirit with, leave out of the prayer, because you cannot be sure. You can only be sure when the Spirit points out your brothers and sisters. The prayers of true believers are powerful and effective, Bless you.

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Sometimes it takes time, his/her heart has to change, God's speed sister, Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding..... we are to lift all our family members in prayer, the husband as head of the household claims their salvation, if the husband is not saved, the wife can claim this for him and all the family, until the husband is saved.

Trust in the Lord sister...

Jesus loves you, we do too.

Greeting sister

We continue in prayer for you, your daughter and for all your family.

How are things, how are you coping each of you.

For the last three weeks we have been watching a nest of wrens, (and keeping our cats away with a hose pipe LOL)

As time went on the parents were flying to and fro, looking after their young, even calling out a warning noise when there was danger. It was amazing to watch, then one morning this week, out popped the first youngster, landing on an hanging basket bracket, a little shaky for sure, then it flies a short distance to a trellis as another youngster pops its head out of the nest and follows the procedure of the first, finally a third came out a little brave, a little keen I think, it missed the bracket landing on the floor, the immediate react was oh no, where are the cats. Why did we worry, natural instict sister, but we should know they were watched over.

The birds gradually flew from trellis to trellis, short flights, then they played behind the trellis, bobbing up and down on the arris rails of the fence behind, in and out of the gaps, then onto the floor. Gradually over a 15 minutes period they played in our garden, with not a care in the world, finally they landed on the top of the fence in the corner and flew into the trees behind. It was wonderful to watch, but gives us a very important picture of life, there comes a time when our young ones fledge the nest, they enter this big wild world, we hope, we pray, we pray, we hope (that is better LOL), that we have taught them enough as they, like us years earlier, fledge the nest and have to make our way into the world.

Be blessed sister, God hears all our prayers, He knows our hearts, He says fear not, Trust in me, Trust in my Son, I have heard your prayers, I love you, Peace be with you.

He must have heard the prayers (we know he hears all our prayers) for these lovely little wren's, they are so small, yet so cute, I prayed daily for them to be protected, the cats got close, the hose pipe got closer, my wife became a good shot. But on the morning they fledges my wife called me, we sat in the sun lounge and watched them every step, every little fly, our cats had been let out of the front door before they fledged, they never returned until these lovely little God created birds had fledged the nest. But fledging the nest is what all young ones do at some stage,. We are to 'Train up a child in the way he/she should go', 'pray and trust the Lord always.'

I know you know these verses well sister but I feel it right in my heart to share them now.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Well said brother Paul

Thank you for your message @Brother-Paul and for sharing about the Wrens....such beautiful little birds.

My daughter is on a downward spiral of anorexia and alcohol.
Since becoming 18 she has cut loose and the world has really got a hold on her.

My heart gets shaky with worry.....but then the Lord in His goodness keeps His word

Thou shalt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon Thee because he trusteth in Thee
Isaiah 26:3

Thank you again everyone for your prayers

Greeting hello :)
I do too, have a lost daughter, I know this feeling it's painful to our hearts it griefs us as parents, but you know we have a weapon the word of our Lord

To pray it’s how we pray for others for any type of addictions, Satan suppresses our children from seeking Christ so we as mom must fight fire with fire, the fire we use is the word of God, the releases the power of the almighty.

We read in Hebrews 4:12-13 (NKJV) For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

We note: no creature hidden from His sight
Proverbs 4:1-2 (NKJV) Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know to understand; For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.

In our mind, some of us live in past things, like guilt, or sorrow, the thing they are bad, we retain in our mind, images, idols these are memories, ashes of our past.

Our children don’t understand because Satan has them in bondage, there is a player to release our loved one from this.

If we look in word their player the release the Lord’s heavenly angel to help us

We read in Exodus 23:20 (KJV) Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.

What type of prayer I will pray, well I go through the word and write down now I have a prayer for someone like?

Psalm 4:1 (KJV) Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me and hear my prayer.
Psalm 3:4 (KJV) I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
Psalm 5:4 (KJV) For thou art, not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
Psalm 5:8 (KJV) Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
Psalm 6:6-7 (KJV) I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxed old because of all mine enemies. d judged the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
Psalm 9:1-2 (KJV) I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

Psalm 17:1-3 (KJV) Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.
Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

Psalm 18:1-2 (KJV) I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

The Place
So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness, (a place of solitude) and prayed.
(Luke 5:16)
And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.
(Matthew 14:23)

there is someone on your side :)

Father God, give her a heart to know you, free her from the power of Satan and bring her to repentance and salvation. In Jesus' name. Amen

Please, pray for God to grant you a spirit of loving gentleness. When I was sinning against God, my mother nearly disowned me, and we were not talking for a long time. Also, I wonder if she was seeing someone who can help her with her depression and the other problems? I recently came to know that I have a personality disorder, and I learned that I need to be on a medication for it. I also talk to a therapist once every 2 months and take another med for my depression. It is helping a bit. So, if possible let her see a professional therapist. Is she doing well in school with these problems ?

See Romans 1: 13; 15: 22

Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
Psalm 18:1-2 (KJV) I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Thank you. I’m on good terms with my mother now. We do not have the best relationship. We talked then, we were not and now we are OK, but not sure it will last. I come from a very Christian household, and my father is a pastor, so her expectations are too high, and she does not tolerate drifting from God’s path. I know her methods were not the best, but she did it out of love. I even knew this when I was very young, but is it biblical? I doubt it. Even now I'm adult and if we argue, she may slap me. She told my dad her ways were biblical according to Matthew 18:17, but part of me was dying because how I was treated only because I was struggling with same-sex attraction. She until this day thinks I have demons. I do not. I have a mental illness. Is depression a hindering spirit? I do not know, but it is also a common mental illness. Most people do fine with it, and some can’t, because it can be a serious threat to someone’s life. I could have prevented going to jail two times, if I were on a medication. I nearly took my own life once. Depression and my mental disorder took me too far into drug addictions.

Her daughter needs to see a therapist, especially if she is not doing well in her school. This can turn bad and we are not to hinder professionals. They know what to do. If she is not turning to God, then this 'secular' method is not against God’s will. We all take meds when we get sick and we see a doctor. It is no different with depression or the other mental problems her mother listed in the OP.
