This topic has been lingering on my mind for so long already two weeks and a month to be exact. The thoughts cannot just get away and most of the time they flow freely even as I go through the day with my daily routine. So maybe I can just share it here.
There are times if not most of the time we experience this issue here at the prayer and counseling section. One would post a prayer request where prayer is needed, but instead of prayer given, we receive a counsel by others. Same is also true at the counseling section; others would just reply "praying for you". In other cases, both prayer and counsel were given. While in other some circumstances, no response at all. Maybe that's a little bit disappointing. Same observation and experience is also true in actual prayer gatherings and counseling sessions when issues and concerns are raised.
Sometimes we just think, all we need is a prayer support why is it there is a lot of blah blah blah even though some just wrote a very simple request .. (LOL) On the other side, a person needing or wanting to hear something will just receive some very few and short comments. Or if given a very long one, it is really what is needed?
During my early years here, I myself wondered this scenario. Even during our prayer gathering before in our Church, I often wonder why is it such a sermon (hehe) is given to someone who is airing his/her concern, with this I remember a co-worker smiling with a blushing face receiving a short sermon after airing a concern (lol). Same is true when advice is seemed needed, one pastor would just say "we will pray for that" - hehe. One time, I've been really very disappointed with my pastor because I'm anticipating for him to at least say even a very simple prayer in one of my life's decision to make that time, but after a very long talk he just bid good bye leaving me dissatisfied. His wife on the other side, on whom I would expect counsel in my darkest moments, just kept silent sitting beside me offering up incessant prayers. One worst experience is there was a time when I've been in my most fearful circumstance, aired my prayer request and it seemed no one gave an answer?
Years past, and the things I've been wondering about I now seemed to understand because I am now doing them myself. lol. There are times I'm that reluctant to even write because I'm thinking this or that person is just asking a prayer request why I need to write some sort of counsel? Same also in the counseling section. Most of the time I won't just reply or reply later as the Lord would lead and give words hoping and praying those would really help the person. As I am sure others have the same hope and prayer and purpose as well.
Ultimately, whether is it a prayer or a counsel being given or received, God does just know what we truly need. Though sometimes we think such words are seemed inappropriate to what we expect, but to the source, he/she just did what they believe they need to say that may give help, hope, encouragement and even illumination to the recipient. In their desire to help others, I can testify myself, I’m also being helped to grow even more and even thankful, encouraged by those needs and concerns being read. I count them always a blessing as they help me cultivate my faith, develop my gifts and exercise the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Though I may not reply to some, but the Lord would just remind me those situations I read on here and bring them in God’s throne of grace during my prayer and devotion. In doing so, the Lord reminded me of the experience I have before and just say, “See my child, I care though it seemed no one may have answered you in your most fearful hour. There is someone I can always call and respond when a need arise though you do not know. That is how I am being concerned with every child of mine like you.”
Dear saints, and children of God here at TJ, God does really know just who you are, what you are, and where you are now. He knows exactly what’s really happening and he is concerned with every detail of our lives. He just knows what we really need.
God bless and have a bountiful day with Jesus.
