I read an interesting article here.
Since Catholics, and even some of other Denominations believe that an individual believer in order to be saved must be baptized, how does this affect your standing in this belief.
For others, how do you see this in a general sense.

"Fox News" isn't expert in anything of a spiritual nature - and it's "the media", so nothing it "reports" should necessarily be taken seriously at any level.

In THIS case, however, the priest in question DID diverge from the "Official Roman Catholic Verbal formula" for the baptism of infants since he substituted "WE" for "I" in the spoken mantra.

Of course since the whole paedobaptism process is nothing but another totally unnecessary Non-Biblical Catholic superstitious ceremony, the way it's performed Doesn't mean SPIT anyway. BUT HEY it's a good excuse for the family to gather and take photos!! I was an extremely attractive baby - I've got the pictures to prove it!!

The expected Roman Catholic "Work-Around" is that it's a "BAPTISM OF DESIRE" so even though the Priest did it wrong, the kid is O.K. Anyway.

Personally, when I was ACTUALLY Born Again of the Holy Spirit 20 years later, THEN I was baptized for real, and the ceremony at St. Peter and Paul's Cathedral in Boston in 1942 didn't matter a bit.

Baptism in water has nothing to do with Salvation anyway - Eph 2:8,9.

Thanks for sharing, I was thinking the same thing as you put it.

@Christ4Ever , it really exposes the doctrines of the Catholics.

So does that mean that if someone was baptized incorrectly (human error), and God forbid they walk out and got some disease and died.
Does that mean that they are in hell because a priest said the wrong words?

Is our faith in the hands of human error?

Great article that probably all Catholics should see.

Exactly brother!
I just found it so obvious and I'm surprised that few others would see it. The Catholics that can't see it, are really giving sheep a bad name.

Not that I'm curious, but the catch all for those who have died before the correction was allowed to be done is probably "purgatory". I do
believe they'd find a way of ensuring that if the question were to arise, that this would be the fix action.

Father Arango knew what he was doing. I think his use of "we" was in the royal sense to include officiators and witnesses. It would not have gone unnoticed for decades for thousands of baptisms and some one doubtless pushed the point of the wording arguing it would invalidate a baptism treating it as a magic formula gone wrong.

If the child strays from the faith, the Church will not take responsibility.

Its ridiculous. Christ does not baptize anyone when it comes to water baptism, He is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit when a person receives baptism in the Spirit. And, BTW, according to Scripture, if a person does not receive water baptism then he isn't in Christ (John 3:5; Romans 6:3; Galatians 3:27), and if a person is not in Christ, then according to Scripture, he does not have eternal life. Therefore, Scripture affirms that unless we are water baptized then we are not saved. People try to use the thief on the cross to denounce that Biblical fact, but they are closed minded and not thinking. God accepted the thief because he could not get baptized, and if God did not accept him because he could not get baptized then He would not be righteous or just. People need to think and not just believe every nonsense thing that they hear.
