Think about the wonderful things God has done for you, starting with saving you and setting you on a course that will take you to an eternity in heaven with Him. Then think about how He, through His Holy Spirit, has empowered you to live a life that pleases Him. Think about how He has filled your heart with the kind of joy only a truly saved man can experience.
The Lord has all those things for you—and still more.
It’s good for a man of God to take stock of the great things God has done for him. But it’s even better for him to open his mouth and speak words of praise and thanksgiving to the one who is his source of all good things.
We live in a world filled with people who desperately need to see and hear about God’s goodness and love. So don’t be shy. Instead, “proclaim his name” and “make known among the nations what he has done.”
Prayer: Wonderful Father, I confess that I don’t open my mouth and proclaim and praise Your name as much as I should. Please forgive me. Encourage and empower me to speak of Your goodness and generosity toward me to those who most need to hear about You.
