-Each decade from the years 1900 to 2000 there've been about 50 earthquakes, the figure from 2001 to 2010 was 425 earthquakes a decade!!! ten times the average!!! (this is talkiing about how Jesus said there would be earthquakes to show that the end times
are upon us), a little food for thought you guys! Now, this is just ONE of the signs that Jesus talked about when reffering to how the end times would be. The other signs are wars/rumors of wars (defenitely that), pestilences-disease (yep), israel would be a nation again (uh huh), moral values heavily decreasing (sadly yes), travel increased (a time not that far behind, most ppl never went 30 miles from the place they were born, now people do business trips that are thousands of miles in short time frames!), knowledge increased (think about the discoveries we've made and how much more we know about our world, our knowledge of the world around us increases incredibly fast every day!), technological advances (come on, think of the things we have now compared to not that long ago, all kinds of technology!), famines (thousands of children day every day from hunger, think how many ppl die a day including all other age groups!)

How can an intelligent person look at these things and not have something stir inside them?? These are the end times ppl, its plain as the words on this post! Jesus foretold these things, and these things are happening in great amounts this very day! Im not sure if i forgot signs that Jesus talked about (i hope not), i just hope what i've talked about here will help someone :) God bless all you guys and keep you strong in these terrible times, I pray that you all have good friends to stand with you in these days! Jesus is coming so very soon, please be ready! I care for you all so much, I want you to be ready!! Jesus wants you all to be ready to come up with Him to heaven when He comes to take us to the heavenly home He prepared for us!!

All of these "signs" have been going on for thousands of years. Many have come before you and will come after you demanding that the end times are near. I will not 100% deny your claim, because it is possible. I just know that only God knows when these end times are.

Earthquakes - It's actually normal and not unheard of for earthquakes to increase and decrease pretty randomly. This year could be bad and the next year not as bad. These five years could have a lot of earthquakes and the next five years could have less.

Wars and rumors of wars - There have always been wars and rumors of wars. All through out history humanity has proven that we desire to fight one another. Somehow everyone ends up using some excuse to blow something up or to sack a civilization. Whether it be from beliefs, power, or corruption and fame.

Israel being a nation - Israel has been a nation since 1948. This is probably the point of evidence that makes the most since actually. However, people have been predicting dates and times since then and nothing happened. We claim that we are in end times, but specific dates and times even year time frames were never given.

Moral Values Decreasing - The world has never been a place filled with morals or a safe place. Is it getting worse? Yes, in many different ways. No, in many other ways. This has been a process that has been happening since the beginning of time as well.

Travel Increasing - Traveling has been steadily increasing. It has also been decreasing because of the entire worlds economy. So how much of a difference could it be now than from 10 years ago?

Technology - Technology, another thing that constantly increases and will continue to do so until the end of time. If this is the case, the world should have ended a thousand years ago.

Famine - People have been dying from this since the beginning of time as well.

I am not saying that we are in the end times or that we are not. I believe that since time compared to Gods eternity, we have been in end times. Only because of the fact that time cannot be compared to eternity. In eternity, a million years means nothing and feels like nothing. Could the end be soon? It is possible. Only God knows when the actual end is. Our job isn't to talk about the end times and claim that it is happening soon, because it is a lie. No one on earth knows if the end times are within the next ten years, or even the next ten thousand. Yes things are getting a bit worse in all of these fields, but these things do fluctuate often. Is the end soon? To anything living in eternity it is, but to us we do not know.

Make the best of the time you have here. Jesus Christ will return one day.

The Jews called time before the captivity "The Former Years" and the time after the captivity "The latter years." The term "Last Days" was used in Jesus' day.

Acts 2:16-18 (KJV)
[16] But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; [17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: [18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

Peter was saying that this Prophesy by Joel was fulfilled on that Pentecost day in 29AD.

2 Tim. 3:1 (NASB)
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

The Disciples and Apostles believed and taught that the Second Coming was imminent. The destruction of Israel would happen just before the Second Coming. The destruction of Jerusalem was indeed difficult times.

Hebrews 1:2 (NASB)
...in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

James 5:3 (NASB)
Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!

Their physical treasure will be destroyed in the Destruction of the City and Temple. Many people stored their valuables in the Temple. It all perished in the Temple fire of 70AD.

And so the term "Last Days" was in effect at least at the beginning of the ministry of Jesus the Messiah; and it continues to this very day.

Well I'm saying that there hasn't been a time where all the signs that Jesus spoke of have come together like this. In all the history of the world, the "israel being a nation AGAIN" hasn't happened until 1948, so think about how much sooner that makes the rapture. I know the whole "there's always been fluctuations in earthquake amounts, etc." but an 80% increase just in this century? I forgot a couple signs as well. The world having weapons that can destroy everybody (nuclear weapons, like the biological ones, etc.). And there are more starving ppl, and there is more knowledge of the world, and increased technology. And you're saying that the moral values aren't at an all time low these days? every day i hear about ppl throwing they're kids off bridges and someone blowing a kid off a porch with a shot gun on halloween, and hundreds of babie's bodies being found, all sorts of disgusting things. With increased population (like we have now), comes increased famines, diseases, and crime. In all my life (even though im 18), i have never seen the news so wrought with evil. Another sign i forgot was that Jesus said when the 2 witnesses preach in the tribulation, everyone would see their dead bodies laying in the streets of jerusalem (everyone in the world wouldnt see that unless the world was like it is today-with us having tv news channels that show the everyone whats going on in one part of the world). Another sign is that Jesus said israel would be a desert for so long, but God would cause it to bloom and be extremely fruitful. Israel was a barren wasteland, and look at it now. One of the most prosperous nations that there is. All throughout history, ppl have scoffed and said "there's no one coming!", but there will be a day when Jesus comes. We arent supposed to have time frames, and ppl arent supposed to predict when He comes, that's why they've all been wrong. Im just doing like Jesus said and putting all the pieces He gave us together, and discerning the time of the end. To me, it seems likes its gonna be very soon. Maybe its longer than i think, im not sure. I just see every sign that He talked about happening today and I believe these times are the end times. Some of these signs have been happening in all of history, but not quite as much as they are now, and you have to put them ALL together to truly get the end times. You cant just use famine, you have to look at them all together. Im just putting out info for people to look at and do their own discerning, that's all. Jesus will come as a thief to a lot of ppl. Jesus said angrily "you can discern what the weather will be like tomorrow, but you can't discern the signs of the end times!"

jeses could return when?

Every day is one day closer, right? Jesus told us to be ready. Only the Father knows when Jesus will return. I have heard many say Jesus had to return very soon, that was in the decade of 1950. Every year there are those who are sure this year is the year.

By saying we know for sure it is this year, it can make us hiper, and do some things which are not wise. Foolishness is selling your house and following Harold Camp and his perdictions. By saying the return of Jesus may be a long way off, could make some lazy.

I am sure the very best way is for us to be ready! Live as it may be a long time, but witmess like Jesus is coming tommrow.

Being ready says it all.......are YOU READY?

Indeed, we should be ready all the time for His coming! For me, saying His coming is a long way off makes me really sad, haha, cause im longing for it every single day! Even so, come Lord Jesus!! Course i would never follow a man like harold camp, we arent supposed to set a date for the Lord's coming. All i can say, is it sure seems close, based on the signs im seeing. (the abundance of the signs is greater in these days, much greater than in 1950). Yes ppl have thought it was time all throughout the ages (but they werent putting the signs together all the way). There couldnt be israel in the land, until 1948. And the technology of the news to show one part of the world to the rest of the world. And israel being a blooming desert, also the war technology to be able to destroy ourselves (biological warfare, etc.).

My main point is that it is impossible to predict, even in a 100 year time frame. We shouldn't be talking about how worse it is getting, but how worse it is going to get? We do not know the specific events that will achieve these prophecies.

These things have always been around and have always existed. To be honest, I don't know where you're getting some of these "prophecies" from. I may not have knowledge of them yet though, so I cant jump to conclusions. My point still remains, we are in the last days (and have been for a long time), but is it really the end times as you refer to? Is it really going to happen SOON? To God, yes. To us, no one knows. It could be fifty thousand years from now.

I mean no offense by any of my postings. I only talk about this because these "end times" topics, scare the crap out of some people. It generates fear mongering tactics, just like Harold Camping did. I am not saying this is your goal, but maybe something else should be focused on.

Why is it that you want to disprove what i say? Im just telling all the prophecies i know, that Jesus gave to us so we could know when the time of the end was near, to anyone who wants to know.

We can not know exactly when the rapture will be, but because of the signs He gave us to figure it out, we can know when it is close at hand. People HAVE been saying its the end times since Jesus's time, but the signs werent there, they just werent there like they are now.

I'm certainly not trying to do anything like Harold Camping did, its just that the end times shouldnt be scary for people who believe Jesus, because they know what's coming ahead and they know that they won't have to go through all the terrible things that are coming.

We should always be in a state of readiness for Christ to rapture us, therefore we should know the end time signs so we can discern when the end times are. Not focusing on being ready and knowing the signs will cause people to not live in a state of readiness, then the rapture will come as a surprise to them, when it was supposed to be an expected blessing. I suppose if you don't believe what I say, that's your business ok? I'm just telling what i have to tell, to anyone who will hear.

Dear JCisTheSaviour.

This sums up the scriptural requirement for Christians
awaiting the return of Jesus.

"We should always be in a state of readiness for Christ to rapture us, therefore we should know the end time signs so we can discern when the end times are. Not focusing on being ready and knowing the signs will cause people to not live in a state of readiness, then the rapture will come as a surprise to them, when it was supposed to be an expected blessing. Well said.

Every day that passes is another day closer to His imminent return.

I am not trying to disprove what you are saying, because I don't even know an exact time frame. However, the end has been near for two thousand years if you base it off prophecy.

The signs have always been around, always. The scale may grow due to population or of it actually spreading, but they have all been here. Yes they may rise and fall constantly, but that doesn't change anything.

Oh I understand you're not trying to do anything like that. It is obvious to me of your intentions. This is how you feel and you are expressing yourself. I respect that VERY much, even though it might not seem like it. I will not compare you with any type of false prophet, because you are not. I am actually explaining my view on this subject, not challenging you directly.

I agree with you on the state of readiness. We all should expect the events of the end. However it is impossible to recognize the signs. The signs spoke of could represent drastic changed in humanity or just an issue in select areas. A question to ask really when it comes to these signs is: How much more will this grow until it fulfills?

The prophecies could be starting to be fulfilled, or they are in a very young stage of the fulfillment process. We don't exactly know. To say that "it's coming soon, it's coming soon" would be a lie when compared to the time stream of humanity. It is coming from God, and by his rules. What is "soon" in eternity?

Could it happen soon? Oh yes, it very well can.

Various parts of our fragile planet have been left reeling in recent times as a result of “inclement” weather. I use the word “inclement” as a euphemism for the simple reason that through the proliferation of news casts recently focusing on the many storms that have thrust themselves upon us, other expressions which render a more succinct descriptive of current events have become rather hackneyed with overuse. So “inclement” I thought enables you, the reader, to insert your own more appropriate word perhaps based on your own experience.

Floods, snow, ice, wind and drought have ravaged many communities across the globe, in all continents and in all hemispheres. Many see these seemingly increasingly devastating events as somehow portentous of even greater catastrophes to come, culminating in a global disaster so overwhelming so as to end all life as we know it.

This sense of impending disaster is further exacerbated by the many movies, books and documentaries that the entertainment industry is pleased to bless us with. We are all well aware of the numerous groups and organizations dedicated to the investigation of climate change, and its impact on the future security of the planet and its resources, and there is much discussion on the internet revolving around what the future may bring to mankind. Prophecy, from many sources, plays no small role in such discussions, especially of late the well documented Mayan calendar which according to scholars predicts the end of the world in 2012.

In the midst of all this publicity, and if we are to believe the predictions from various sources which in general terms all seem to agree that something unusual is happening to our planet, there is precious little space given to real solutions. Why? Because, and let us be brutally honest here, according to those very same predictions, there aren’t any solutions. The Mayan calendar for example doesn’t offer an alternative road that the world may travel down to avoid the end. Scientists the world over have offered very little by way of real answers to the environmental problems facing the world in coming years, even the greatest of them looking to emigrating to other planets as the only viable solution. Put simply, the prophecies and predictions of science and the ‘seers’ of our age offer no plan B.
Except for one. One lone source of prophetic utterance, despite its honest portrayal of impending disaster for the world, is redolent with hope. The Bible, agreeing with the general tenet of society that there is danger looming over mankind on many fronts, is yet extremely positive about the future of man. So positive in fact, that it reveals to its readers that what God has in store for mankind is so far above and beyond what this world has thus far offered that no man can possibly even imagine what God has in store for him.

Jesus said “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth for the powers of heaven shall be shaken…” (Luke 21:26,26.)
Because there is so little or no positive news when it comes to prophecies such as the Mayan calendar, many people throughout the world must be in fear not just for their own lives but for those of loved ones and neighbours. There is no hope offered to the world in the face of impending global disaster. Fear of the future, Jesus says, is the cause of heart failure throughout the world at this time. A cursory study of medical statistics and health news over the past months would testify that Jesus words are being borne out in reality. Stress over the future is leading thousands to early graves. Jesus however, does not leave us with a future of gloom without an answer. He goes further in His prophetic words of our day and says, “…And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh”. (Luke 21: 27,28.)

Jesus is here telling us that the disasters and great cataclysmic events that are coming upon the earth, which we are witnessing the beginnings of now, are pointers or signposts to an even greater event that is in itself actually good news! That despite the fact that the nations of the world will be in ‘perplexity’, which means bewilderment or baffled, and that they literally see no way out, there is hope, there is good news! And that good news friend is His second coming. Why is it good news? It is good news because the reason for His coming is to rescue as many people as possible who would take advantage of His offer of redemption, and to take them home where they belong. To remove His people from amidst the storms and crisis that ravage the planet; to finally meet face to face with those for whom He died; to release them from the pain, anguish, and sorrow that this world had been inflicting upon them throughout their lifetimes.

I am reminded of a couple of incidents we read about in the gospels. The disciples on two separate occasions were in a boat upon the sea, and a storm arose that threatened their lives on both of these occasions. On the first occasion the disciples had been sent out onto the water by Jesus to go to the other side of the lake where Jesus would meet them later. In the meantime Jesus was to disperse the crowds who had just been miraculously fed and to go and pray to His Father alone on a mountain. On the other occasion Jesus was with the disciples in the boat, and on this occasion even more so than the former, the disciples were in fear for their lives, despite the presence of their Lord.

Inside those boats was Jesus’ entire church. Those boats on both occasions were transporting God’s hope for the future salvation of mankind. Here were the foundation stones of the New Testament church, in mortal peril of storms that threatened to end the church before it had barely begun. Imagine the fear of ones such as Matthew who we would designate as a ‘pen-pusher’ or ‘townie’. Having possibly no or little experience on the sea, much less likely to be able to swim, you can believe that Matthew was a very worried little ex tax collector. If the fishermen themselves such as John Peter and Andrew were afraid, it would be rather unlikely that any of the others were offering encouraging scripture texts to bolster confidence. Yet it was in the midst of these crises that Jesus demonstrated His power to save.

It will be the same in these last days. Regardless of the intensity of the storms and tempests of whatever nature, whether climate or financial or social or even religious, Jesus is coming and His promise is that He will take us home where no more will we have to endure anything that will ever again threaten or hurt us. It is essential however that we realize that Jesus never promises that we would not have to endure storms in this life. The disciples did not avoid the storms, but it was necessary they negotiate their way through them and by faith in the Son of God come out the other side victorious in faith and hope. This is the lesson Jesus would have had them learn.

For the Christian there is no promise of a life devoid of difficulty, of a life without hardship and sorrow. The promise lies in the hope and peace that comes from our confidence in God to be with us throughout. As the Lord was with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace, so also is he with the Christian who with faith and trust endures the trials and tribulations and storms that this life offer. And the coming crisis is not going to be of such a magnitude that it will negate the power of God to save. As Noah endured the storm and the flood, as Israel endured the plagues of Egypt, so God’s end-time church will endure the final plagues that are to come upon the earth before Jesus second coming, but they will be protected through it, and saved from it. That is hope my friend, not just for the Christian, but also for the unbeliever who fears for his future. The Christian message my friend is a message of hope.

The person outside the faith community will be constantly hearing of and seeing problems that are perplexing even governments; he will be seeing and hearing of climate events that overwhelm communities all around him; he will be afraid of global financial collapse due to overspending by millions creating a credit crisis; he will be fearful of the violence and crime that pervades all the great cities of the nations as we have seen recently in Cairo; and he will see no way out. The news casts on the television and in the newspapers do not provide promise of hope. That is not their work. It is the church’s work to preach a full message of gospel truth that not only is honest about the future destruction of this planet just as in the days of Noah, only this time by fire, but also honest about the promise of salvation and deliverance for all those who trust in Jesus Christ; who trust in the atoning benefits of His shed blood; who trust in the offer of forgiveness found in the life, death, and resurrection of the Son of God as revealed in the gospels. And that message of hope, that message of promise, is for the Christian to share on every occasion and to every one who is willing to hear. We are all called to witness to the grace, love, and mercy and power of our Saviour and Lord. We are all called, whether pastor, priest, or layman, to share the good news of Christ’s soon coming to all who would listen. And let us not dwell too long on the subject of the coming storm or crisis, but let us more reassure those who are fearful and perplexed, that there is a way out. There is a solution. There is an answer. He is the Creator, the mighty God and Prince of peace, the only God and Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ.

The way I look at it, we all live in our own end days. In the whole span of time, we are here no longer than a blip on radar screen before we die.

That time will be here sooner than later and you are either right with God or you are not and, so you will met your own Armageddon or, not.

So, be sure to make peace with God through jesus Christ and enjoy what time you have left!

Prophecy isn't included in scripture to be ignored, but we must be wise in our understanding of why it is there and the purpose for which God has chosen to so bless us with such forewarnings.
I do not agree with using prophecy, particularly in respect to the second coming, as a means of 'urgency' that man should accept the gospel. That Jesus is coming soon I do not doubt, and I have believed for a long time in my lifetime, although I am not oblivious to the fact that there are many cemeteries fertilised with those who were as convinced of the same thing as me. Using prophecy however can actually give people an excuse to procrastinate. Though they may believe the prophecies, they can see how some aren't yet fulfilled, and relax their vigilance, believing they have time up their sleeve and make a decision for Christ when matters get more heated. This can be a very dangerous attitude, for it can develop into a habit of procrastination and possibly to a point when the Spirit of God is no longer recognised.
Choose ye this day...today, when you hear His voice...today is the day of salvation...not because Jesus is coming soon, but because every rejection of the Spirit makes it that much harder to accept, and easier to reject.

So why has God placed such prophecies in scripture? To warn us and guard us against deception. For as the prophecies of the Bible reveal the true nature of Christ, they also uncover the false nature of false Christs, the Antichrist, and false prophets.

Here is a little something to think about concerning the topic.

12 “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away!14 In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.
