The indictment charges are that he attempted to overturn the election results

Conspiracy to Defraud the United States
Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding
Obstruction of and Attempt to Obstruct an Official Proceeding
Conspiracy Against Rights

The indictment is fairly easy to track down. https://www.justice.gov/storage/US_v_Trump_23_cr_257.pdf Whenever a new story or comment sounds a bit off, seeking out the original source material can help identify what's true and what is not.

Because he dared to say the election was stolen, which many did when he was elected, and yet no one was charged then, the justice system in the US is very heavily favored towards the liberal causes, and justice is rarely served correctly when it comes to politicians.... or those who speak against liberal causes.

The charge is not that he said the election was stolen, but that he conspired to overturn the election. See what the indictment says.

If I was a corrupt govt official and decided that I wanted to ensure you could not run for election, I could plant evidence of you committing espionage. And when you complain that you didnt do it, and that the someone in the govt was behind it, would you complain, or would you be a sheep to be led to the slaughter, your family black marked by everyone?

Let's see what his defence is when it comes to court.

If you are truly a christian, as you say you are, you are completely devoid of a spiritual eye, which is discernment. Its actually way to common nowdays, that even those who call Christ "Lord" have little to no discernment.

That's odd. I answered a factual question about what's in the indictment, and immediately people leap to question my faith in Jesus and my spiritual maturity.

Dear Brother,
Politics even during Jesus' day was something to behold!!!
It gets the blood boiling, and passions at an all-time high.

We need to remember, that God sets authority (Romans 13:1), and that Jesus has that authority (Matthew 28:18). So, I see that what we see happening in this country and the World in general should be no surprise to anyone, when you look to the actions of people, even those who are supposed to be God's people who will argue like a good Pharisee against a good Sadducee on the subject of resurrection! :)

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Dont get out your crying towel. I asked you a question, and instead of answering, your response was it will be found out in court which wasnt an answer to the question. I didnt make my statement about your lack of discernment due to what you have said here, rather due to your long standing responses that I can remember down throughout my time here (both to my questions and others). You have surely heard of wolves in sheep's clothing. I dont know that you are a "real" christian, just as I dont know the same about everyone here. Thats between them and the Lord. I am glad that nearly all here at least pay lip service to the Lord if nothing else. During the time of Jesus, which Nick refers to, there were many who were upstanding jews who supposedly served the Lord, but thats not what scripture teaches us. Its easy to want to assume others are genuine in their faith and in their service and their "growth" as you put it, but during said Jesus's time, fewer were the religious ones who actually served the Lord. Did you actually think it was any different in this day and age?

And I specifically stated they can plant any evidence they want. You nicely sidestepped the issue as if any and every court case will provide the true justice that the Lord loves.

And indeed, I was responding to the original posters question, but you felt the need to inform me that I wasnt able to read what you already posted as if thats the only answer to her question.

I replied because you answer was wrong. The indictment is not because he said the election was stolen, it's claiming he illegally tried to overturn the election

I am alarmed to read phrases such as "wolves in sheep's clothing" bandied about when I don't show allegiance to Trump.

I follow Jesus, no-one else.

Question about what's going on with Trump

Same 'ol Same 'ol. The Democratic party (and some Republican liberal politicians) has only had ONE AGENDA for the last 7 years: DESTROY TRUMP by whatever means possible. Maybe they'll "get him" this time. Maybe not. The U.S. has been in a death spiral for YEARS. This is nothing more hat the latest maneuver. YOU DON'T DARE believe anything you read or hear. Corruption is universal.

There you go, you proved some of that bias that you supposedly dont have. You said "he illegally tried to overturn the election". When all he did was tell the american public that he believed that cheating was going on in the election, which many many many people believe. He specifically told the ppl in a speech on 1/6 to protest without violence, yet in your mind he is already guilty of the matter. Guilty until proven innocent, is that the case now in Britain? I responded to the OP of the truth of the matter, you responded with all the hyperbole the liberals put forward without the evidence to back it up.

And I dont know that you are a wolf in sheeps clothing. Again, thats between you and the Lord. I said there are many out there today that are such, and since I dont know of your relation to the Lord, I simply dont know concerning you.

I haven't made any statement about his guilt or innocence.

The indictment affirms his right to say that he believed the election was fraudulent. I quote....

"The Defendant had a right, like every American, to speak publicly about the election and even to claim, falsely, that there had been outcome-determinative fraud during the election and that he had won. He was also entitled to formally challenge the results of the election through lawful and appropriate means, such as by seeking recounts or audits of the popular vote
in states or filing lawsuits challenging ballots and procedures. Indeed, in many cases, the Defendant did pursue these methods of contesting the election results. His efforts to change the outcome in any state through recounts, audits, or legal challenges were uniformly unsuccessful."

That's not the basis of the indictment

So basically it's cause he claims the election was stolen right? Smh r we still in America home of the free?.. or is it...
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Ya that's what I had thought.. if they get trump for what he said he believes to be true then the Americans are in hot water... China arrest their peep who speak out against their govt..

No. He has a right to say he believes the election was stolen and the indictment mentions this on page 2. I quoted it in post 17.

The indictment claims he illegally conspired to overturn the election. That's what the court will judge him on.
