My grandson 13 ask me who the young man is in Mark 14:50-52 , I have read it many times , but never thought about who it was . I reread it today and it says all the deciples fled so it was not one of them . Dose anyone know or can guess as to who it may have been so I can get back to my grandson.

50 And they all forsook him, and fled.
51 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:
52 And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

Grayfeather, I believe this is Marks personal signiture to his gospel. He was not with the deciples and Christ in the garden, but fallowed the gards as they sought for Jesus of Nazereth. They may have come to his house to search in the upper room. In any event he witnesed these events, and when they grabed him he fled leaving his night linnin behind him. Apparently he had been sleeping and fallowed after them in his night clothes. This young man is Mark himself, the one who is writing the naritive. Who else could it be?

Thanks I never thought about it being Mark , but it makes sence now . It had to be him since the rest fled. I think what threw me is that in the garden scripture and the arrest of Jesus only the discipels are mentioned . I will let my grandson know thanks again for the anserw. He's one who asks alot of questions , but this one stumped me.
