Questions/Answers on Spiritual Gifts

the gift of faith distributed to the elect
1Cor 3:5 What then is Apollos? and what is Paul? Ministers through whom ye believed, and as the Lord gave to each.
:6 I planted, Apollos watered; but God gave increase.
7 So then neither is who planteth aught nor who watereth; but God that giveth increase.

Acts 16:14 And a certain woman Lydia by name, a purple-seller of Thyateira City, one that worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened to give heed to the things spoken by Paul.

They didn't - "Pentecostalism" grew out of Wesleyan Holiness ("Holy rollers" were Wesleyans, and the DID "Roll").
Popy-****! A study of Church History appears to be called for here. I said nothing about the Extreme Wing of Holy Rollers, that is your ¿vanity? trying to misdirect the conversation.

Since Baptists are essentially "Cessationists" (based on 1 cor 13:10 - the published Bible being "that perfect"), they typically consider the whole "Full Gospel/Pentecostal/Charismatic" thing to be as phony as a $3 bill.
You really need to stop following the bouncing ball and get to know people. I have already admitted the ability to speak in tongues and I noted that my pastor and a couple of other Baptist Pastors that pray in tongues,,, in their prayer closets, much as Paul teaches us to do.
Sorry to hear about your disability. I'm not as active at 80, as I was at 45 (Coronary issues).
Thanks but this is my fault.
But from an evangelistic standpoint, Full Gospel groups world-wide have expanded from zero in 1900, to the point where 1 in 3 Christians are Pentecostal in nature.
I will need three sources before I can work that into my life. That is contrary to my life and I am being nice on this.

Okay let's be nice Brethren and not go where we don't have to!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

For one of us anyway.
Bob, you're mixing Holy Rollers and Pentecostals up. I doubt not that you are correct about the Holy Roller Extremest Pentecostals but I will not, likely, ever attend a service in one of the Church Buildings because I will stand and call any teacher on a misapplication of scripture. I was removed from the fellowship of one assembly by the False Teacher for calling him for errant application of scripture.

Nope, I'm not. "Holy Roller" / "Shaker" / "Quaker" were terms coined in the 19th century time frame, years before there was such a thing as "Pentecostal". They were characterized by exuberant worship, and physical actions. "Pentecostals" were a different breed of cat, and "Historic Pentecostals" largely rejected the "Charismatics" of 1966-78.

Baptists, as a general rule. are cessationist in orientation.

The gift of the unseen work of Christ's faith as a labor of his love does give the increase .

Those who demanded they see a miracle or healing before they believed made Jesus into a circus seal.. John 4:48, John 6:30

As a living hope . . .seeing is not believing believing the word of God is the foundation of faith .We have a living abiding hope for who hopes for that in which they already have ?

We walk by faith not after what the eyes see and flesh feels.
