Rebellion can destroy you
Numbers 16:1-3
1 Now korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Pallu, the son of Reuben, made themselves ready,
2 And came before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty chiefs of the people, men of good name who had a place in the meeting of the people.
3 They came together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, You take overmuch on yourselves, seeing that all the people are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them; why then have you put yourselves in authority over the people of the Lord?
Number 16:31&32
31 And while these words were on his lips, the earth under them was parted in two;
32 And the earth, opening her mouth, took them in, with their families, and all the men who were joined to Korah, and their goods
Satan rebeled against the authority of God making him to be the first rebel.The rebellion led to a fierce battle in heaven.He lost the battle and was casted into earth where he has been causing all manners of commotion and instigating a lot of people to rebel against divine authority.rebellion is the refusal to accept authority.Every person in position of authority is placed there by God.Any rebellion to an authority is rebellion against God and God does not take such rebellion lightly .God can go to any extent to crush any rebel like he did to those rebelling against the authority of moses.kora Dathan and abiram rose up against the divinely constituted authority of moses .Moses never did any wrong to warrant the rebellion .The rebels were possesed with the spirit of rebellion which drives them to convince men of good standing among the isrealites.Beclouded by a foolish ambition, they offered strange fires to God which stirred up the his anger .The consequence is just much for them to bear.The earth opened up and swallowed them.253 people swallowing by the earth and their families!!! Thousands of isrealites who are so foolish to notice the anger also rebelled against moses and were killed by pestilence.That is how far God can go in crushing rebels.The pathway of rebellion is the pathway to destruction run away from it otherwise you will be destroyed by it
