Recovering the flu

I've had a strong early spring flu for 3 day now (it's not the swine flu, no worries)
Does anyone know how long it takes to fully recover the flu? I know I could recover it but still be a virus holder and infect others, my dad just had a liver transplant and he takes meds to decrease his immunity and he is returning home this week, I can't be sick around him, it could be fatal to him.

So any suggestions?

A lot of it depends on the strength of the bug that got you sick, your immune system, general health, smoker or nonsmoker, etc. In general 3 to 7 days for the flu but for your Dad I would stay away till you felt 100% normal again.

Drink plenty of fluids and have a quick recovery my friend. I am praying for you.

Next time you feel something coming on that feels like a cold/flu bug,

start taking some type of Zinc lozenge every 3-4 hours.

It'll cut down the severity and duration of the bug. Been doing it for years now.

I've been using a particular product called Cold-Ezee. Works great
