I have searched this forum this afternoon, trying to find some advice on how to deal with rejection, but have not found anything. I have searched the titles in the sections:

scriptual answers, ethics and morality and counselling.

Any advice would be appreciated because I accept that it is a major problem for me.

Thank you LLJ for finding that for me.

I have had a quick look at it and it looks just what I need. I will need to take more time to go through it thoroughly though, looking at the Bible verses.

The good news is that it is not too "deep" and I understood what I read!!!!!

We are in the midst of Easter...where the Son was rejected AND despised, crucified.

Today, while meditating on this, the words of a song by Keith Green gave some light to our many problems...I can not see while my eyes are on me.
Sadeyes, I want you to look at Jesus - the Jesus who was despised and rejected, to totally take your eyes off you and look to Jesus, who rose from the dead and lives for you and for me and all mankind, that we may be saved from the bondage of self and the effect and power of sin. While we look to ourselves, our eyes miss the Holy Saviour, and our communion is with our weakness and our pain, our feelings and disdain. As you look to Jesus on this Easter day, I want you to see the One who suffered, who was without sin, who lives forever more and makes intecession for you, lift up your arms and voice to the Lord, cry unto Him, and receive the gift of life which is in itself complete freedom from your pain. He WILL give you peace. He is wanting for you to call upon Him now and in repentance with confession, declaring your need for Him in your life. You see, while we swim in our sad feelings, we are rejecting the only One who can heal us, who wants so much more than we do for us to be free and made whole.

Dear friend, let Jesus Christ transform you from sad eyes to glad eyes, in the twinkling of an eye! Beloved, He has done this for me and what He has done for me He will do for you...and always remember from then on, if people reject you, they first rejected your Saviour and King, and be comforted that you are in good company...He or She who comes unto me, I will in no wise reject.

May the salvation of God in Jesus Christ the Lord, the risen Lord, be yours this Easter...in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, amen.

Freedom from Rejection

I suffered greatly from rejection for about 30 years, it blighted my life. God set me free from rejection by listening to an audio tape by Derek Prince. Near the end of the recording He invites people to pray a prayer for release from rejection. (I can't remember the prayer) but it's effects were astonishing. I was completely set free from rejection. I've looked for the recording on the Internet and can't find it. But I did come across the book which is very cheap It's called, 'God's remedy for Rejection' by Derek Prince. You can buy it online, I highly recommend it.

There's quite a few Derek Prince Ministries websites including one in Germany were you can listen to or download his Bible teachings. He was one of the best Bible teachers of his generation.

Another suggestion: Search out all the Scriptures about God's love and put your name in each one as the recipient and decide to believe them, no matter what your emotions are telling you.. You can use the BibleGateway link for that.

I find these topics always interesting to read, as it can bring back something that I may have overlooked in my own walk with God.

I found this for you, which may help. Stay in your Bible, as there, you will get loads of comfort and you will soon feel you won't be rejected for long, pray and speak to God as you are reading and God's presence will soon be with you and felt.

Answer: We are all prone to disappointment and feelings of rejection and that is especially true in the aftermath of a broken relationship. However, as born again believers we have a resource in God's Word that can, when used, bring comfort and clarity to the situation. One person's rejection does not mean we are unlovable. That is one person's opinion. We can allow that to determine how we feel and allow that feeling to color our idea of who we are, or we can choose to put that behind us and move forward on the basis of something that is far more lasting.

What is that? For the believer, it is our position in Christ. When we are born again we are "accepted." "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved" (Ephesians 1:3-6 King James Version).

What we have in this passage is the reality that even though we do not deserve it nor can we earn it (Ephesians 2:8-9), the LORD Jesus Christ has blessed us with every spiritual blessing and has made us accepted in Him. This acceptance is His gift of grace and it transcends any and all other "feelings" we may have because it is not based on "hope so" but on "know so." We know that this is true because God's Word tells us and as we appropriate this truth by faith, it becomes reality in our hearts and lives.

Walking by our feelings is like walking through the world with our heart on our sleeve. We are bound to be hurt and we are bound to be disappointed for we live in a fallen world. What we choose to do with that hurt and disappointment will either allow us to grow stronger in our walk with the LORD or it will mean that we are walking wounded. Both outcomes are our choice. God makes it possible for us to walk through the disappointments in life with a knowledge that His provision for us works. His grace and His comfort are ours as we rest in it. Every born again child of God has all of these provisions and blessings in Christ but we have to choose to use them. It is sort of like having a million dollars in the bank and choosing to starve to death because we don't use that money. It is also true that "we cannot use what we do not know." Therefore, it behooves every believer to "know" something and that means more than devotional reading of God Word but study that changes our perspective (2 Timothy 2:15) and allows us to face day to day life armed with real understanding about the reality of walking by faith.

As believers we are not defined by our past failures or by disappointment or by the rejection of others. We are defined as children of God, born again to newness of life and endowed with every spiritual blessing and accepted in Christ Jesus. That is the invisible reality that is the defining factor when it comes to dealing with life as it comes. God has prepared for each of us unique opportunities to walk through the "all things" of this life. We can either walk in our own strength and what the Apostle Paul calls our "flesh" or we can walk in the power of the provision God has made for us through the Holy Spirit. It is our choice. God has provided us with armor (Ephesians 6:11-18) but it is up to us to put it on by faith.

Therefore, if you are a child of God, you may suffer disappointment in this life, but you need to remember that as a child of the King, this rejection is a momentary bump in the road. You have a choice to either allow that bump to derail you and walk wounded or you can choose to claim the heritage of a child of God and move forward in grace. Forgiveness of others and of self is a gift that you can give because of the grace gift of our LORD Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:32).

The good news is that I am feeling less rejected the more that I believe that God REALLY does love ME.

My theory is if God loves me and thinks that I am the 'apple of his eye', what do I care what man thinks? What more could I want than Almighty God loving me?

With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God's chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ's love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:

They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.
We're sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.
None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I'm absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
