Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:9
The wisest believer is that one who comes openhearted for cleansing, and who knows that God's summons to repentance is gracious. Repentance makes way for progressive alteration of our thinking, attitude, and heart. God invites us to experience His cleansing and forgiveness, but not self-condemnation or death-dealing despair.
In other words, introspection and confession are to release us...and that release opens the door for bold, history-shaping, nation-changing intercession.
