"AS Captain of the host of the Lord, am I now come" - Josh 5 v 14
Jesus comes to take charge, and when he is in charge, then everything is alright. Amen?
A little girl whose father was the skipper of a ship, ....on one occasion was travelling upon a voyage with her father,..... and they ran into a storm. The girl was asleep, but the noise of the storm awoke her...She was afraid for a moment. She then asked if her "Daddy was on board" The reply was "of course he is" "O thats fine" she said. And she went back to sleep again.
Robert Louis Stevenson in his biography, tells the story of a voyge at sea. The passengers were kept below decks because of the danger from the great waves which swept over the vessel.
But in the midst of it all, a passenger managed to climb onto the deck. Clinging onto things as he went along. Eventually in his hazardous journey, he was able to look toward the bridge, and there was the skipper, the Captain of the ship.
He hurried back below deck, and announced to the frightened people. "It is alright, all is well, I have just seen the Captain, and he had a smile on his face".
Jesus is the Captain, of "our Salvation" the "Great Shepherd who careth for the sheep", and as we keep 'looking unto Jesus' then whatever storms and stresses through which the ship of our lives may pass - we will reach our target. On earth.....and in heaven.
I believe it, and for you also.
