Hi

Just a quick question. When is the moment of our salvation? Is it when we become a born again Christian or when we die?

Thanks:embarasse

also has anyone got a verse that deals with God cleansing us? in life

Many Thanks

God Bless

Here is something about salvation for you, hope it helps.

Salvation

God offers us salvation through Jesus. It's in the Bible, Matthew 1:21, TLB. "And she will have a Son, and you shall name Him Jesus (meaning 'Savior’), for He will save His people from their sins." Acts 4:12, NIV says, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Salvation means we receive eternal life if we enter into a personal relationship with God. It's in the Bible, John 17:3, TLB. "And this is the way to have eternal life—by knowing You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth!" John 3:16, NIV says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

There is only one way to salvation and its not the easy road. It's in the Bible, Matthew 7:13-14, TLB. "Heaven can be entered only through the narrow gate! The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide enough for all the multitudes who choose its easy way. But the gateway to Life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it."

Salvation cannot be earned, it is a gift. It's in the Bible, Ephesians 2:8-9, TLB. "Because of His kindness, you have been saved through trusting Christ. And even trusting is not of yourselves; it too is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it."

Receiving salvation is a powerful, personal response to the gospel including repentance for sin. It's in the Bible, Acts 2:37-38, TLB. "These words of Peter's moved them deeply, and they said to him and to the other apostles, 'Brothers, what should we do?' And Peter replied, 'Each one of you must turn from sin, return to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins."

Receiving salvation is simple, direct, personal, and public. It's in the Bible, Romans 10:8-10, TLB. "For salvation that comes from trusting Christ—which is what we preach—is already within easy reach of each of us; in fact, it is as near as our own hearts and mouths. For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord, and believe in your own heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation."

Salvation is the moment we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and GOD. It is also a lifelong process as well (as far as I know, if I'm saying this correctly). Througout life as a believer, we are transformed into the likeness of Christ. This is a process done by the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 John 1:8-10
8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, let’s settle this,”says the Lord.“Though your sins are like scarlet,I will make them as white as snow.Though they are red like crimson,I will make them as white as wool.

Thanks

I thought that was the case with Salavtion but sometimes when reading it appears that Salvation happens when you die. Thanks again for making it clear for me

Hi slim.....You ask a good question here. You have also been given some good answers to your question.

I would councel you to carefully take note of these answers.......They could make you a wise man indeed. And prosperous....in Jesus

God Bless You

Thanks again. Im pleased to have some thoughts on this as I had read in the past there were a few views of this

Salvation as already achieved: "When the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love towards man, appeared, not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour; that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life" (Titus 3:4-7).
Salvation as an on-going process: "To us who are being saved, (the word of the cross) is the power of God" (1 Corinthians 1:18). The original text of this passage in Greek has present-tense σῳζομένοις (being saved), not perfect-tense σεσῳσμένοις (having been saved) or past-tense (aorist-tense) σῳθεῖσιν (saved); ambiguous translations such as "us which are saved" (KJV) cover up this fact.
Salvation as yet to be obtained: "Since, therefore, we are now justified by (Christ's) blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God" (Romans 5:9).

Im happy to say i belive the first

I think the second one is a reference to all the people who will be saved. Paul is associating himself with a group when he says "us", and the verse probably means those that are saved now, then there are those saved a little later, and then some more saved a little further in the future. As time goes on so does the overall progress of salvation, in the sense that more people are getting saved.

Just my interpretation.
