Revelation 20

1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20

1And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, When was the thousand years? Before creation?

3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. When they set satan free, is it talking about present times? Like right now, he is loose, but will be chained again at Jesus' return?

4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Is this saying that those who died before Christ didn't live yet? I am not understand most of this passage.

I understand a few verses of this passage, but I think it's mainly the
thousand years of prison for satan I don't understand.

Revelation.

Rizen1:
2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, When was the thousand years? Before creation?

When they set satan free, is it talking about present times? Like right now, he is loose, but will be chained again at Jesus' return?

This event has not yet occurred...

Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. (very important) Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Satan knows his time is short... so he gathers all he can only to face the Lord in defeat...

The Event in Rev 20 is described as taking place right after Jesus comes and destroys the Armies of the false prophet and Antichrist. Those that recieved the Mark, Worshiped the image along with the false prophet are thrown into the Lake of fire..

Satan is then bound.........into a pit.. for 1,000 years.....

The earth will be in turmoil and many will be left on the earth. Except those that followed Satan... Not so good for them...
Jesus will rule on this earth at that time...

Isa 9:5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.
Rev 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Is this saying that those who died before Christ didn't live yet? I am not understand most of this passage.

The rest of the (Wicked Dead)............... from Adam until then... All that are God's are with Jesus.

Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:..............

Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Rev 3:10
Because you have guarded and kept My word of patient endurance [have held fast the [2] lesson of My patience with the [3] expectant endurance that I give you], I also will keep you [safe] from the hour of trial (testing) which is coming on the whole world to try those who dwell upon the earth.

Rev 4:1
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened (People go in and out of doors) in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Rev 4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

1) We escape all these things on earth.
2) door opened... to Heaven, right to the throne room.
3) a trumpet... calls right to the throne room
4) Instantly no longer in the body, but in the spirit.
Blessed are they who have part in the first Resurrection....

1Co 15:42
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

1Co 15:44
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Luk 24:37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
Luk 24:38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
Luk 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Just like Jesus, our bodies are resurrected and made new.... The first resurrection.

(Rom 8:23) (John 5:28-29) (Php 3:21)

1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (to die can be translated, at rest), but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Th 4:16
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

This is the trumpet (Trump of God) as described in Rev 4:1-2 This is not a angelic trumpet, (seventh Trumpet to end Tribulation) but God calls his own right to the throne to stand before Jesus.... The ones with God have their bodies resurrected like Jesus...

Those in the Lord are raised first.. the rest of the dead get raised latter...

Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Everyone that is in the Lord will be with him.... the 144,000 will be called up and the 2 witnesses in Rev 11 are also raptured up..

Rev 5:9
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

Anyone on earth that had faith in the Blood of Jesus is here... Not going through the tribulation..... be counted worthy to escape all this and stand before the Son of Man... Luke 21:36

1,000 years.......

Jesus shall rule for 1,000 years.. We shall reign as Kings and priest. (Rev 1:6) Satan will not be around to hinder anything, or make anything sick... he will not be around to draw away someone... However those that are here can still be tempted by the lust of their "Own" flesh..
At the end.....

Death and Hell give up the dead... this is the 2nd resurrection... and Judgement......
Those on the earth during Jesus reign and followed Satan after he was let loose are also judged.....

Jesus Is Lord.

I knew most of this was past my understanding
because I would need basic knowledge of some stuff
before reading this, but I do understand bits.
Thanks for explaining it further for me. :)
It is very interesting and really thought provoking.
