Science and Creation- Message #132 - July 09, 2006

Most folks think you cannot really be a scientist and still believe what the Bible says about the creation of our world. Science, however, really got its start through the effort of Christians to discover more about the greatness of God through a study of His creation.

Unfortunately, the rise of the theory of evolution placed a division between God and science. Why? If our universe evolved, then God did not create it in six literal days as described in the Bible. We have been so well schooled in the theory of evolution that the story of creation in the Bible is considered a myth.

But there is a turn-around going on among scientists. There are too many questions. Take recent studies of the planet Saturn as an example. Wonderful pictures were beamed back from space. With these pictures came many questions. The rings of Saturn are moving at different speeds. There also appears to be something like spokes in some of the rings; like spokes in a wagon wheel. The spokes are revolving at a different speed than the planet. How can this be? If Saturn has been out there for millions of years, the rings, the spokes, and Saturn itself should all be turning at the same speed.

As a result, many scientists are turning back to the God of the Bible for answers! Shouldn't you?

Science has changed through the ages, as they study deeper they find that what they originally thought was wrong. They now have better equipment that enables them to see the rings of saturn in more detail.

They sort of prove themselves wrong.

Where as GODs word in its perfection, can never outprove itself.

It reminds me of before I met Jesus, I spent a long time studying neuro pshycology, I would buy endless books, it would amaze me how men over the thousands of years had finally got close to understanding a humans mind.

Then the Holy Bible came to me and gave me the answers that the scientists will never be able to.

Why dont they just read it? save them a lot of guessing

Praise the Lord, yes, Praise Jesus. The time is coming when we shall see Him and every knee shall bow and acknowledge Him as Lord.

Science was always my least favorite subject in school. But I am interested in and thrilled to see that scientists are "seeing the light" these days.

I love what it says in Romans 1: 19-21

Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Just looking at creation itself shows such beauty and balance from the largest to the smallest thing. How can one look at this and deny that there is a God? Every time I look at the stars, the oceans, the wind, .... fills me with awe and praises to our Heavenly Father. Creation declares His glory.

As a result, many scientists are turning back to the God of the Bible for answers! Shouldn't you?

Yes ,Yes!

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. —Psalm 19:1

If there is no Designer—no Creator God—how is it that our universe can be a law-abiding system marked by beauty and simplicity? I wonder, why isn't our universe in chaos?

The only reasonable explanation to me is the God of the Bible. As it says in Romans 1:20.

If it's only the reality of God's existence that explains the whole universe, that must also be true of our lives. We are not accidents but creatures designed by a Maker of limitless power and wisdom. Look for Him in what He has designed—you'll see Him there.
