Im not sure if this topic has arisen before, coz if it has I can't seem to find it, so ill ask this anyway....
Can someone explain screamo music to me please? I like christian rock music (like Skillet, Decyfer Down etc), even heavy rock music (like Jonah33), and i find them to be really great and full of passion that really shines through their songs. But I don't really understand screamo music...that is, heavy metal type rock where half or most of the time, there is no singing, but rather very loud screaming, and you can't understand a word they're saying...
Firstly, what is the point of performing a song if the listeners cannot understand what you are saying?! How can they relate to that in any way?
Secondly, how does screaming show anything of the joy we have in Christ Jesus? Can anyone see Jesus getting up on a stage or in a church service and screaming into a mic? Personally, I can't see how that would work... I can't see how screaming can show a positive emotion, coz to me, it just sounds like someone's soul dying in Hell!! it makes me feel very sad...
I'm sure different people have different perspectives on this, and I'd love to hear your opinion. I'm just explaining how and what it seems like from my viewpoint...
