Scripture turned into a song

Hi Yo'll,
How can you turn scripture into a song?
I know mercyme did it& other christian bands. But i don't know how to do it.
I would like to know how you turn scripture into a song.
If you know how please post them here.

Well first of prayer.
Then you have to make sure if you are using a song using a certain translation that you get permission; especially if you plan to publish it.
Then let the Lord lead you and it will come.

Mercy me is not the only one to do that, in the 60's the Byrds did it with the song Turn, turn, turn, there is a direct quote form Eccles.. in there, a time for.....
