Servanthood
Lots of books have been written about leadership. Even lots of Christian books have been written on servant leadership. But not much is said about servanthood. How do you feel about the statement that you were created to serve? As a believer, you were saved to serve God and have been called by Him to lay down your life in service to others. Oh, I'd much rather talk about greatness, leadership, and powerful personalities, but Jesus set the standard with a life of complete service. He did not consider His position as the "Only Son of God", but instead humbled himself and served the very humans he created! How much more should we commit ourselves to a life of sacrifice and service? In fact God has sovereignly shaped you for service. S.H.A.P.E.
Take a look at your SHAPE... Spiritual gifts. God's Spirit has blessed each of us with different spiritual gifts that are meant to be used to serve the local church. Heart. God created you not only with a unique physical heartbeat, but also with a unique emotional heartbeat. Where is your passion? What are you both enthusiastic about and effective with? Abilities. Outside of the miraculous, God will generally expect you to serve within your abilities. Did you know that the average adult possesses between 500 to 700 abilities? Bring glory to God in all you do. Personality. Your personality determines how and where you will use your gifts and abilities. Your ministry of service will have your individual flair. God has appointed for you to live here and now for purposes only He knows. Experience. God is shaping you through your experiences, especially the painful ones. His strength is made perfect in your weakness. Go ahead, start today. You are shaped to serve God. God be with you all...
