Shadows

There shadows still pass me by
Eyes hard and cold
Showing only emptness
I can feel there hatred
Its hard to belive they once followed my words

We walked together
We fought together
We suffered together
We only had eachother

Now we pass as though we are strangers
I changed paths
A road they will not travel
What was a beating march is now single drum

My heart still aches
For i loved them once
For so long there were my family
I would have layed down my life to protect them
In return they would have would have followed me to the end

Now as they walk toward hate and suffering
I walk toward the lord
Each day i pray he will release them

So once again we can walk together
Only this time it will be for the greater good
