This brings back memories brother wonderful memories.

First 'March for Jesus', a dear brother and myself joined thousands in London in 1986 for March for Jesus. It was amazing, the procession was massive, all Glory to the Lord. The sides of the streets were packed as people came out of shops to watch and join in the singing and rejoicing.

The procession ended in Hyde Park where there was a stage and more singing and rejoicing. As my brother and myself rejoiced and gave thanks, a Police sargent came across to talk, he said, it was the first time he had ever overseen so many people in Hyde Park and there had been no trouble.

One song that stays with me from that day was Shine Jesus Shine, written and sung by Graham Kendrick. I loved the song, I still do to this day.

March for Jesus originated in Australia, 1983 I think. 1986 was the first time in the UK but spread across the world from then on. Shine Jesus Shine was a wonderful song, for a wonderful procession, Praising Jesus, Glorifying God, Love at it's best.

Shine Jesus Shine, fill this land with the Father's Glory. Amen

Here is a little more about March for Jesus in the UK...


The March for Jesus in the United Kingdom began as a City March in London in 1986. It emerged from the friendship of three church groups: Pioneer, led by Gerald Coates; Ichthus led by Roger Forster; and Youth with a Mission led by Lynn Green. Together with the worship leader Graham Kendrick, they led a movement which over the next three years spread across the UK, Europe and North America, and finally across the world. Hundreds of smaller marches emerged in its wake.
