Should homosexuals be allowed to marry one another?

In this politically correct climate that relinquishes morality to the relativistic whims of society, stating that homosexuals should not marry is becoming unpopular. Should a woman be allowed to marry another woman? Should a man be allowed to marry another man? Should they be given legal protection and special rights to practice their homosexuality? No, they should not.

The Bible, of course, condemns homosexuality. It takes no leap of logic to discern that homosexual marriage is also condemned. But our society does not rely on the Bible for its moral truth. Instead, it relies on a humanistic and relativistic moral base upon which it builds its ethical structure.

Homosexuality is not natural. Just look at the male and female bodies. They are obviously designed to couple. The natural design is apparent. It is not natural to couple male with male and female with female. It would be like trying to fit two screws together and to nuts together and then say, "See, its natural for them to go together."

Homosexuals argue that homosexuality is natural since it occurs in the animal world. But this is problematic. It is true that this behavior occurs in the animal kingdom. But, it is also true that we see animals eating their prey alive. We see savagery, cruelty, and extreme brutality. Yet, we do not condone such behavior in our own society. Proponents of the natural order argument as a basis for homosexuality should not pick-and-choose the situations that best fit their agendas. They should be consistent and not compare us to animals. We are not animals. We are made in God's image. Logic says that if homosexuality is natural and acceptable because it exists in the animal world, then it must also be natural and acceptable to eat people alive. But, this is obviously faulty thinking. Therefore, appeal to the practice in the animal world as support for homosexual practice is equally faulty.

Political protection of a sexual practice is ludicrous. I do not believe it is proper to pass laws stating that homosexuals have 'rights.' What about pedophilia or bestiality? These are sexual practices. Should they also be protected by law? If homosexuality is protected by law, why not those as well?

Of course, these brief paragraphs can in no way exhaust the issue of homosexuality's moral equity. But, the family is the basis of our culture. It is the most basic unit. Destroy it and you destroy society and homosexuality is not helping the family.

Excellent topic and all Truth. Two great articles from gotquestions.org below:

Before we look at gay marriage, first we have to remember what the Bible says about homosexuality. The Bible clearly and consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). God does not create a person with homosexual desires. A person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of his or her own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for them to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

We also have to remember that homosexuality is just as forgivable a sin as all other sins. God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God’s love and desire to save extends to homosexuals (John 3:16; Romans 5:8). God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

To give sanction to homosexual marriage would be to give approval to that lifestyle, which the Bible clearly and consistently condemns as sinful. I believe that Christians should stand firmly against the idea of gay marriage. Marriage is ordained by God to be between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:21-24; Matthew 19:4-6). Homosexual marriage is a perversion of the institution of marriage and an offense to the God who created marriage. God forbids and condemns homosexuality, so He clearly is opposed to homosexual marriage. As Christians, we are to seek to share the love of God and salvation through Christ with homosexuals. We are to be loving and kind to homosexuals, while at the same time not condoning their sinful lifestyle.

The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When a person continues in sin and disbelief, the Bible tells us that God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

No way

AHHHHHH, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Gays should not marry because, marriage is an act of worship if done in accordance to god. If your not getting married for God than it defeats the purpose of marriage. Doesn't it? And obviously homosexuality is forbiden by God. If gays want to express their love for one another, they should come up with their own way, rather than try to use the word for only the things that they want to use it for. They should make their own religion that suits their needs, if they are going to live for the flesh, rather than try to change, twist, and cause controversy in ours (the truth). Its all or nothing. If theres one thing that Gays will never have its Gods blessing on their marrages. No matter how much or how many of them protest, scream, and cry, or how many bills are past by man. Let them explain to God pesonally why they feel they should get special privledges. If its OK for gays to get married, than is it OK for me to steal, lie, or cheat? "GOD WILL UNDERSTAND" We will all be exposed in the light of God.
Bless out.:boy_hug: :girl_hug:

Homosexuals should not be able to enter into matrimony. What really worries me the most about this topic is that if it is made legal for couples of the same gender to marry how is it going to effect the coming generations? If it is legal, then it is acceptable in society. Will my greatgrandchildren know that homosexuality is wrong? Many children of today already see it as a lifestyle choice. (Which it is not) How will the children of the following generations know that it is wrong? If it is made legal, then how will there minds process that it is wrong? The truth is, I believe, that it will become legal eventually and that references in the Bible will be changed. And the whole world will no longer have a true perspective on life. The time is coming soon when " Evil will be called good, and good will be called evil." It is really hard now trying to raise children to be morally and spiritually sound. I shudder to think what it will be like when my children start raising families of their own. God help us all.

Some are lost and we need to reach out to them. Others purposely reject the Word of GOD knowingly and hate Him. They are of the world intentionally.

Toronto, where I live is the second largest population for gays in north America, next to sanfrancisco. So believe me when I say that gays are a threat to the next generation. They can get married here, and once a year a million gays paraid around half naked in thongs and tight leather bodage gear, in downtown Toronto screaming, Im gay and its OK, Im gay and proud look at me. Even the mayer shows up to support them. Not only that but all kinds of straight people bring their kids down to celibrate, YEAAAAA. (MOMMY whats hanging out of that guys butt?) UNREAL!
There are alot of people out there with bigger problems that need help far more than a gay and their rights.(to all the bleading hearts out there that feel sorry for the so called discrminated gays) Maybe if I get enough people to follow me in my sheep fetish, I just might get a paraid to YESSSS!
Not proud to say that the gay movement is in full swing in my city.
I dont hate gays but I hate what they do. We need to love them to though and pray for them.
peace and bless out!

Brian McLaren - A True Son Of Lucifer
by James Jacob Prasch
Emergent Church Guru, Brian McLaren has now publicly stated that “many of us do not know what to think about homosexuality’ and suggests a five years moratorium on addressing the issue.
McLaren’s rejection of propositional truth has already established a ‘pseudo church’ void of doctrine and of answers to vital questions of life and eternity, that is a spiritually abject sham based on a combination of New Age and Post Modernism that increasing numbers of apostate formerly Evangelical churches and pastors who no longer Evangelical by biblical definition, have bought into.
That McLaren has no theological training or background whatsoever is not a factor in and of itself, as academic credentials are not a scriptural criteria for suitability for the ministry. McLaren’s de facto rejection of absolute biblical truth however, and his lack of any credible exegesis and his functional rejection of The Word of God are. Remarkably McLaren has even eclipsed Rick Warren, Robert Sculler, Steve Chalk, Colin Chapman, and Tony Campolo as a benchmark in quantifying departure from God’s eternal truth revealed in His Word (and that is no small achievement).
Already well beyond the compromises of ecumenism, McLaren has now reached a new depth of nefarious depravity in his recently published statements in Christianity Today’s leadership forum addressing “Pastoral Responses To Homosexuality” and ‘Christianity Today’ has reached a new depth of depravity in its willingness to facilitate the propagation of what God’s Word would define as blatant wickedness and spiritual seduction.
McLaren states that “Many of us (assumedly so called pastors of his ilk) do not know what to think of the homosexuality issue having considered all of its aspects” and McLaren suggests a five year moratorium on making a pronouncement.
If McLaren does not know what to think about what God has clearly stated about such an issue, how can such a man be regarded as a Christian, let alone a pastor?

Justin,

Why don't you gather a group of believers who live in your area and come together to pray for the devil's work in the Toronto gay community to be blocked? Make them regular gatherings. A one-time event won't be enough. Just keep meeting together and praying until the enemy's control is broken.

Remember Jesus' words - "Wherever two or more are gathered together in My Name, I am among them." (Mt 18:20)

Mike,

The most powerful wepon we have in any moral battle is prayer. Prayer campaigns against great wrongs such as the legitimizing of homosexuality can carry the day as long as we don't let ourselves be sidetracked and if we refuse to quit praying until the victory happens.

The problem is that we don't have the persistence needed to carry the battle through to a successful conclusion. "Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Gal 6:9)

Matrimony is a sacred sacriment open to those who accept the teachings of God. I can accept that people of diverse sexuality can indeed love one another but matrimony in the Christian sense is not an option. Civil partnerships is a different subject. Only God can judge us and surely Christian's should show compassion and tolerance while not condoning practices that we ourselves do not belive to be right. I know gay people who are far kinder, charitable and loving than some Christians who go to church and are none of the above.Should we ostracise gay people altogether. It also antagonises me that gay people are confused or associated with paedophilia - I read a study that clearly showed the majority of child crimes were perpetrated by those who call themselves hetrosexual - the most evil and despicable type of person there is. I agree matrimony should not be allowed and would stand against it. I am open to the thought of civil partnerships for those who genuinely love one another and in saying this I do not condone or support ******* behaviour. May God guide all of us.Amen.

Should men and women be homosexuals? God said no. When we reason among ourselves on what is right and wrong, we do not change the truth. Our decisions on homosexuallity do not make it right or wrong. God , being the Judge of the absolute highest court, has already issued a ruling on it. Our reasoning only defines whether we are for or against God.

Brother Mike asked in his thread the question "Should homosexuals be allowed to marry one another?" not for us to reason together, but rather to expose the plot and purpose of satan, to destroy the family. So now we can pray effectively. Thanks Mike for bringing this to light.

Preach it Brother!

When you are given over to a reprobate mind, you are being judged and rejected by God. If we dont believe the Gospel and repent this can happen. The marriage bed is only undefiled if its a man and woman who are being married...you cannot make a homosexual marriage, or even union, undefiled. Same goes for adultery and fornication...no matter how nice the person is. The spirit of Satan can be very nice at times... Liars thiefs murderers and the like will not, Paul said... NOT enter the kingdom of God. So be not decieved...

Rom1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

These are just some symptoms of sin.. not all have to be manifest to be a sinner. Or a reprobate...thats why some are nice people, but still in the bond of iniquity.

God bless

My main concern with this topic is rather should we as Christians , with the word of God in our hands , allow that same word to change , or be misinterpreted because a government law was , is , or is going to be past .

The quote jiggy used was perfect along with his response [ should homosexuals be allowed to marry on another ... point blank , with Gods word in our hands ? ] To me , the Body of Christ lets governments influince the word of God too much , thus leaving the real teacher , [ The Holy Spirit ] out of the direction of Gods people .

This kind of thinking can take root in the Body of Christ very easy as Fellowservant pointed out some of the way's these manifestations of sinful man are coming to fluition . However , he also used the Word of God as his point of reference , and not any other influince around him to detour his foundation from his answer . Mike

no but the point ois that we should love them but hate what they are in to, i love them but hate they the devil has a foot hold on so menny people! so pray for them that all i can do!

Something to remember also, there are some who knowingly reject the Truth given to them by GOD as it was given to us all who DO believe. Some are lost not knowing the Word of GOD, some know it and reject it.

Luke 10:16
He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.”

John 12:48
He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

We should always try our best to pray for each lost soul we encounter in our lives. This is what Christ does for us before we received Him when He called us out to be His.
