Has anyone heard about this? I can't post links because I am new but if you go to Google and put in "TU24" and it shows an asteroid ready or near miss to Earth On Jan. 29th 2008. There is a Graph on NASA showing this. It was supposed to hit Mars but now it is so close to earth. Is this real? lol? Reminds me of Rev 9 for some reason.

Anyone else see this?

From what I could find on NASA's site, the asteroid is no danger to earth and is moving toward Mars, being expected to come within 30,000 miles of Mars on 1/30/08.

I hope this is not danger to earth or if it hit us because that is horrifing to think about it, that this thing is mental rock about 400m "maybe quarter a mile!" and that is very big and something like that can ripe out the hold earth or maybe a hlaf of thee earth, I think!
This one is 4 times as big as the Tunguska event and if the composition is heavy rock then it is unlikely to explode in the atmosphere.

On the picture of the NASA web site you can fast forward it and you can make it go backward. If you do that...you can see that the tu24 is right by the Earth. When I did that it looks like it is going to hit the Earth on the 20th of Jan 2008. If you look close it is covering the word Earth. That's how close it is.
 
I have to say it may not hit the Earth because I remember watch my local new that maybe around 04 which I can't remember what year was this, but umm... I sworn I remember that they say that there was one that was close probably very close to the earth and that this one was nearly the size of the state of Rhode Island that one would really wipe out the hold earth. I heard one that might be which I hope it will never happen they say in April of the 13 in the year of 2029 that there a asteroid that will hit the earth and they say its the size of Asia!!!!!

TU24 might be more like the one I just talk about "The RI size" as to what it'll just past by but still in risk in danger and I hope in God that he won't allowed this thing to hit earth.:embarasse
But TU24 is nearly the size of the Sear tower of Chicago but around like 1 to 3 times bigger then the sear tower because it allot thicker and that in away still make a big damage, but it can get smaller if it hit the earth so It may get half of it size small. This type of asteroid may ripe out like I don't know, but um still make a big impact on earth, they say that even it wont hit it but still at risk, it might have some school of small asteroid and it can also effect the weather. So lets see what will happen in 2 week beacuse I pray about this case and that is very scary:shock:

You know I said something about a thing that is the size of Asia, I think that could be just a rumor :secret:
 
The theory that TU24 will hit earth is based on old data when NASA was predicting its path. Based on its current trajectory we're alright, its not going to hit earth.
 
I'm surprised that anyone would think the world will end this way, a comet hitting the earth. What about what Scripture says? It will not end until Jesus returns and prophecy is fulfilled. Read Revelations for insight.

I think comets, asteroids, meteors, etc coming so close to the earth as if they appear they will hit earth goes to show you that GOD is in control of all things in Creation.
 
That would be great if it was old data! There is a web site dedicated to this TU24. I was thinking...maybe it is like Y2k. Everyone buying water and stocking up on canned foods to boost the economy..because of the resession that we are seeing...I don't know. Chad, you are so right about God is in control and thank God for that.

NASA has just updated a link today. It says they will know more on the 23rd when it moves in closer. It says it is type Apollo. That sounds like apollyon the greek name and abaddon in Hebrew in Rev. 9. Tee Hee you never know. I am glad we have the seal of God, Jesus, that protects us from these things and takes care of our needs.

Given the estimated number of near-Earth asteroids of this size (about 7,000 discovered and undiscovered objects), an object of this size would be expected to pass this close to Earth, on average, about every 5 years or so. The average interval between actual Earth impacts for an object of this size would be about 37,000 years. For the January 29th encounter, near Earth asteroid 2007 TU24 has no chance of hitting, or affecting, Earth.

If this thing had hit earth, I doubt it could destroy the planet. According to NASA, its only about 164 feet wide.

Yeah, God said that 3/4 of the Earth would burn. Not getting hit by an asteroid and being destroyed. It does talk about wormwood in Rev. 8 I think. I think that is supposed to be an asteroid too. So many different interpretations but not being wiped out by one. Thanks God lol
