I think I have worked out that I CANNOT choose, I like both sides of the fence, Example having a family and having fun with my mates at the pub....Knowing about god but choosing not to follow him....sin or church...... I can never seem to make the right decission so I compensate ......eg by helping people in need donate financially to help pple out take stuff to the needy,,,,does that make up for my sin??? Does that make sense??

You cannot earn you way into heaven, its only through Jesus, although after you accept Jesus into your life to change you, you MUST follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, for if you keep ignoring the voice of the Holy Spirit, you will be like the virgins of revelation who did not have "oil" for their lamps and were shut out of the wedding feast of the Lamb (Jesus). You don't need to be perfect after asking Jesus into your life, the HOLY SPIRIT will guide you into obedience at the speed that He knows to be best, NOT at the speed of some self righteous ones expect out of you, but when the Holy Spirit does motivate you, and you keep ignoring it, it could turn out bad for you.

ok well I feel I have become unsaved and do good things for people but wont stop sinning thats where I sit on the fence

Of course you can choose, your choice is to love yourself and what you want more than any self sacrifice toward your family or God. Either accept the choice you have been making or change, and no change is also a choice. You always have choice, even if you don't like the choices.

I like no change
That is something you may be able to choose for the moment, but consider all of the people in Europe who were comfortable with where they were when along came Hitler and his Nazis and the changes made were not what they would have chosen if they had known and were able to stop the changes.

Change is coming, Mr Popples, for all of us. Many people want to walk down the middle, but sooner or later they will lose what they think that they have. When many of them realize how bad things are it may already be too late.

This is becoming a world which is likely to soon be worse than a world ruled by Nazis.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." rev 3:15-16

No, it doesn't. Helping the needy is good. But you are in a mortal sin.

When we get on our knees and judge ourselves 1 Cor 11:31, Phil 2:12, we judge for the level of love or hatred we have for what is evil. We do this by examining our actions / fruits. This is the significance of mortal vs venial sins.

If we hate what is evil and cling to what is good, our hearts are after God's and we find Jesus James 4:8, Rev 3:20. Only God can reveal Jesus as Lord to us 1 Cor 12:3. He does this after judging our hearts and minds Jer 17:10. So no thinking that attending church or repeating magical lines saves you.

There is no faking Christianity. You are not on the fence. You are on the other side looking in. Everyone wants what comes with Christianity. Quiet conscience, peace and heaven. But not all want to face the reality of their love for what is evil. As was said above. We all have sin. True. But the difference between sinners was crystal clear in the OT. There was a great divide in Hades separating two type of sinners.

Paul murdered Christians. He repented and never went back. Because it was a mortal sin. Paul committed many lessor sins, but never again a mortal sin.

John 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

Rom 12:9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Rom 7:15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate, I do.

THATS IT you hit the nail on then head that last sentence from the bible (I do not
understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate, I do.

thats me I think I worry about something that isnt there

When your secrets come to the surface you will want to blame God or even point the finger at your wife; DON'T DO IT. You will have to look in the mirror at self, You did it; no one but you. God will make a way for you to live out the decision you have made. Woe unto you when the wall crumbles down.

That's all of us :). We just need to all grasp that 1. He hates it and 2. The particular sins were not mortal. He did not continue killing Christians.
