Socer Wins Kids for Jesus

No the Gospel and the holy spirit lead people to christ. and the gospel should be presented as it is and not as an add on to another event

Yes soccer and other football codes often are a good way to reach boys. Many ministries here in Australia provide support and coaching for boys wanting to play these kinds of sports. They are able to share the gospel and invite these kids to youth groups that teach the Bible.

It's wonderful that through such fun events we are able to gather children in and tell them about Jesus.

Our Church has a girls and boys after school clubs that are modelled on Scouts. They do some camping and survival skill training. However as they gather each week to do this they hear a short message from God's Word or about Jesus and learn to sing some Christian songs. Then they do their lesson. They do a couple of camping weekends to practice their skills. Many of these kids have then joined our Church Sunday school or Teen groups studying the Bible.

It's a great way to do outreach amongst kids.

In Mt 5:13-14 we are called to be salt and light to the world. I believe the Holy Spirit empowers every activity that draws people to Jesus and I don't think He cares whether or not the gospel is shared as an add-on to another activity. These children are learning about Christ and Christianity within the context of a sport that is the national passion in their country. That doesn't diminish Jesus or the gospel. Quite the opposite, it exhalts Him and His message.
