Strap yourself in for this one brothers and sisters!! LOL I was going to talk about whether of not God does,or can ever change his mind! But the Lord is not yet ready for me on that one yet. Getting close. Anyway, I thought this from the Lord in me,will hold us till then. You know most of us read scripture daily,we look for what we need from it.
But sometimes we need to also look at the detail around the words spoken,example matt 5-Matt 7 Most of you all know these words,they are the Sermon on the Mount. But let us for a moment look more closely here. Verse 1 of matt 5 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the mountain;and after he sat down, his disciples came to him. Now remember,just prior to this matt 4:25 large crowds gathered, and followed our Jesus from Galilee and the Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and!! from beyond the Jordan!! No little crowd!!
Now when Jesus saw this as the Word says he went to the mountain, now the disciples are among the crowd there,they saw the Master go to the mountain,but when Jesus sat down, no one!! could see him! Hey!! Where is the teacher perhaps someone spoke?? Where did he go?? We better go have a look!
Now the crowd did not follow the disciples as they went,perhaps from fear? Perhaps because they did not understand why Jesus did this!Verse 2 He opened his mouth and began to teach them,who?? just the disciples?? NOPE! From a sitting position Jesus taught them all!!
Those in the valley heard Jesus teach!( matt 7:28) Jesus did not speak in a normal tone either!! He BOOMED out the words BLESSED!! Now read the following chapters!! In this light! because this is so long,I want to hit a few highlights with you if i may. Many parts I will not hit on sure could be!
But in the PART of light the Lord has given me on this,I will speak on what he wants me to. First,Jesus went to the mountain for a purpose! He could have just sat down anywhere and taught,he went to the Mountain because God in the Old Testament spoke also from a mountain top,telling all who heard his voice,that GOD is still on his Mountain!
And what you hear today is from GOD!! In the Flesh whose name is Jesus! Now the disciples left the people alone! NO ONE!! was with them!! Who was to lead the people? Remember Moses who stood high so the people could have hope, when he crossed the Red Sea? Jesus spoke,and the people heard!
Jesus is our HOPE! verse 3-12 Then Jesus calls those who are this, the following,verse 13 YOU!! are the salt of the earth.verse 14 YOU are the light of the World, A city set on a hill cannot be hidden!!verse 15 NOR does ANYONE light a lamp and put it under a basket,but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Verse 16 LET YOUR light shine before MEN in such a way that they may SEE!!!! your good works,and GLORIFY your Father who is in heaven.( see example of such in Judges 7 my old friend Gideon! 7:16-25) he broke the pitcher! verse 19! and exposed himself to all! Then please read what happened!)
Now after this Jesus tells them of the many different laws, then Jesus in Chapter 6 in relationship to almsgiving( matt 6:1-4) then prayer 5-15 then fasting, not if we fast!! when we fast!! verses 16-18 then money 19-24 then Jesus goes into relations, first to anxiety verses 25-34 then judging Chapter 7:1-5 to prudence verse 6 then right back to prayer again!!
Verse 7-11 to others verse12 and then!!! THE PROOF of the KINGDOM!!! 13-29 near the end Jesus says verse 24 therefore everyone, (which is us) who what?? amen HEARS these words of mine and what??? Is it enough to only hear?? Not according to Jesus it is not! AND ACTS UPON THEM!! STANDING BELIEF!! showing Belief!! For this my brothers and sisters in Christ this is the only TRUE Belief!!
Again he says this in verse 26!! To verify what he spoke in verse 24! Must be REAL IMPORTANT!!! he speaks of those who do not DO!! This is not to condemn!! This is only to bring FULL LIGHT TO all there and us! Verse 28 When Jesus finished these words, the crowds were amazed at HIS teaching! verse 29 for HE was teaching them as one having authority, and not as the scribes!
Authority in both words!! and action! His example for us to hear and do!
You know sometimes when we read the Word, we may have had a tough day,we are kind of tired,but sometimes when we read the Word of God words stand tall on the page!! And we say WOW!!! I really understand what you are saying here Lord!! COOL!! That is how I felt when I read this. My brothers and sisters in Christ,I am not above any of you in any way!! I have weakness just like you do! More then some in some cases!
I am only here to encourage you all in Jesus! My gift in the Body of Christ to make others become reconciled to the Lord!( 2 Cor 5:18-21) To make reading God's Word FUN!! Not a chore! If I have done this by this message then i have done well,and I shall be most happy in Christ!! Jesus is alive!! And he lives in you Brothers and sisters!! FEED HIM!!!! FEED HIM with the Word of God!!
For my brothers and sister to the lost we have food they know not of!!( john 4:32-34) To make our will, God's will for all of our lives!! So we can be the light on the hill he wants us to be!! To be mocked,and laughted at, poke fun at,but when those same people get into trouble they do not go to the person who mocks God!! they go to the woman or man that believes GOD!!
YOU are that LIGHT!! SHINE NOW!! for if not YOU WHO???? and if NOT NOW!!! WHEN!! This is the question,only you can answer!! May every blessing be made upon each of you,who have taken the time to read this!! I sure am glad for each of you here!! For Chad and all the wonderful people who work so hard to make this site talking about Jesus!! amen!
