In the thread "Trinity: Is Jesus really God" by @Yollie , the moderator @Christ4Ever said the following

Plus looking at the Statement of Faith of Talk Jesus, clearly states that its of Trinitarian belief.

Yet I distinctly recall having had a conversation with @Christ4Ever where he admitted that when the forum was updated a few months ago, the Statement of Faith was removed (possibly lost?).

Yes, there are Terms & Rules (linked at the bottom of each page), but no Statement of Faith that I can find.

How is one to abide by a "Statement of Faith" where none exists, or cannot be accessed from the home page in order to be read?

I would link to Nick's post to @Yollie's thread, but last evening my own last post discussing John 1:14 was unceremonious deleted, and I too was banned - without notification to the membership, btw. (Just in case people may wonder about my absence.)

So if I may politely ask, just where is this Statement of Faith to be found? And where in the Terms & Rules are we specifically required to post within the doctrines that are in this Statement?

Kindly,
Rhema

Dear Rhema,
Thanks to Brother twcstp for providing the link to the statement of faith.
Well, there you go for abiding by the SOF. Shouldn't be a problem now should it. :)
As far as the folks on the thread in question not realizing that you were banned from replying, I'll make sure to remedy that as soon as I'm done with this post to you.
I'm still waiting for your answer to my question asked of you in our PM.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

It may be of great help if the Statement of Faith could be linked at the bottom next to the Terms & Rules. (Or a link placed within the Terms & Rules?)

And yet, there is no provision in the Terms & Rules (as linked below) which states that the content of one's posts must abide within the doctrines set forth by the Statement of Faith.

In addition, the link posted by @twcstp (again thank you very much) also allowed me to find this thread on Community Guidelines:

While very similar to the Terms & Rules, there is also no provision in the Community Guidelines that stipulate that the content of one's posts must abide within the doctrines as set forth by the Statement of Faith. Rather, one reads this:
All are welcomed here regardless of your beliefs.
And it would seem from this statement that one is permitted to set forth one's beliefs for discussion if they differ from the SOF, although I readily recognize that there are TWO listed prohibitions:
However, our focus is Jesus Christ. We're not here to debate the validity of the Holy Bible or God's existence.
And I note that discussion of the Trinity is not in the list prohibitions.

It may be of great help to add that into the Community Guidelines, if such is going to be enforced in the draconian manner I have seen over the years.

And finally, perhaps the Community Guidelines could be linked below or within the Terms & Rules to make them more accessible as well to those like myself who apparently are inept.

Thank you,
Rhema

Well don't sound so gleeful about it eh? ;)

Indeed. Have some patience, please. I'll get to it. My thoughts took a different pathway when I came to the forum today.

Why is it that this doctrine always seems to get put behind a wall? Does God's word need man's protection? I don't think so. If it's Biblical it can stand on its own.

"The one who first states a case seems right, until the other comes and cross-examines." (Prov 18:17 NRSV)

How do you know how to understand the cross examination of one person's beliefs compared to another, when you compare? It is just as important to get a 2nd, 3rd or more opinions on eternal matters, if we find it important to get other opinions when diagnosed with cancer. How can you evaluate the views if you don't know the rules and principles of interpretation, hermeneutics? There are two well known and respected textbooks on this topic online:

https://icotb.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Clinton-Lockhart-Principles-of-Interpretation.pdf

Both textbooks have a table of contents up front to locate various areas of study, and also a list of verses looked at placed in the back of the books.

Please limit your discussion in this thread to the Statement of Faith, Terms & Rules, and Community Guidelines of TalkJesus.

Particularly as to whether the Terms & Rules and Community Guidelines require posted content to conform to the Statement of Faith.

I don't think my concerns have been addressed by the staff yet.

Respectfully,
Rhema
