We all can be content,but few can stay this way!! LOL ( Phil 4:11-14) For many times we look to place others at fault for our lack of staying content in all areas of our own life. If that person would just listen to me,I could be content!! LOL If that person would just do this or that,I would be content! The secret!! Depending on Jesus for all things, even in your thinking,brings both peace, and contentment.But this requires strong discipline from yourself as well,as in most thinking in life does. For the fruit of the Spirit comes by always keeping our mind in Christ Jesus in our believing!( rom 15:13) ( gal 5:22-26!) Self control!!! Comes only by learning,how to stay in love,joy,peace patience( my thorn LOL ) kindness,goodness( psalm 27:13) and yes FAITHFULNESS!!!!( the ability in Christ Jesus to always remain content in ones faith!)
No matter what we say or do,we must always be on guard over our sorry flesh! Because just about the time we think we have it down, we are reminded by our flesh we do not. LOL Our flesh is like a small child,and if we are aware of this always,we know what Paul means when he says ( 1 cor 9:23-27!!) As in all sin brothers and sisters being content comes first in our minds,Holy Spirit then looks to drop this down in our heart as a law of Christ,to both walk in and encourage others to consider as well.Did I say law?? LOL I should say as part of the new Covenant!) Hebrews 8:6-13!!)
Law can be such a bad word to many. hehe( Ezekiel 36:26-28!!) A finished work of our Jesus! To be established in Christ Jesus,one must always seek becoming this way,and stay content in this.We all have better days then others,but never let your eyes lose sight of the prize!! Jesus is worth following! And so are his children if they will remain content in being his children,and not look to the world as part of there contentment. I know this is easy to say,but hard to do,but if it were not hard to do, then everyone would be doing it. hehe FEW are content,because FEW place Jesus above there own self!
That was an ouchy for me when I first heard this. LOL Because it always causes each of us to examine ourselves daily!!( 2 cor 13:5) And to be ever mindful to daily grow in grace to others!( 2 peter 3:17-18!!) And to think above,not on us!!( col 3:1-4) Please get the word try out of your mindset,try is a flesh word to fail,try is a lukewarm word,for self to try.We know what happens when we try!! LOL
God does not try anything,he does or does not,and teaches his children the same.Jesus says( luke 1:37) To stay content means, that we are always thinking about keeping a lease upon our flesh! A choker chain at times may be needed! i sure needed one for me!LOL Consider not your own lack,for brothers and sisters i know we all make mistakes! A mistake, is an exam,on what you should learn in the past as well as the present! You pass,if you can move on and learn,we fail when we are not willing to take the exam! To stay content,means to always help others to think this way as well,as do these things as well.( james 1:22) For the life of our Jesus who lives in each of us,comes to life,by always staying content in him!
