A WORD fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver...! - Solomon - Prov 25:11

Excerpt - Michael Baisden Commentary:

Stop Playing With God

I think people confuse my issues with organized religion with my relationship with my higher power. Those are mutually exclusive. Yes, I have issues with religion and some religious leaders but my bigger issues are with those who sit silently in the congregation every Sunday while infidelity, molestation, and thievery are going on in the pulpit. They are just as guilty as the perpetrators…now that’s playing with God.

Every Christian, Muslim, Jew, etc.…who hears “The Word” week after week, month after month, year after year, and do not improve their lives…is playing with God!

Every man or woman who auto debits 10% of his or her income every month to tithe but never invest ten minutes to help those who are less fortunate…is playing with God!

Every man or woman who is able and doesn’t pay child support and every parent who uses his or her children as pawns to get revenge…is playing with God!

Every parent who destroys their child’s self esteem and fails to protect them from molestation and abuse… is playing with God!
.....
You can’t pick and choose which parts of the Bible, Quran, or Torah, to be obedient to and then chalk the rest up to, “I’m not perfect” or “The flesh is weak.” That sounds good for the first year or two but when you have been attending services for years and are still gossiping, cheating, and not improving your life… you are playing with God.

Just because some people don’t wear a religious label or walk into a building every Sunday doesn’t mean they don’t believe in…or serve God. And that’s another problem in our society, we are more concerned about labels and church affiliation than a person’s deeds or character… and that is playing with God!
