Strange Question About Suicide

I was just watching a movie and it caused me to think of this somewhat strange question. If a person commits suicide but they are brought back to life, does that mean that when they finally do die will they go to hell? I know this is a strange question, but it really pertains to me and here's why. I know this is going to sound far fetched, but it's 100% true...When I was 10 years old (I'm 29 now) I was out shooting my BB gun and I remember this overwhelming feeling, almost like a dark presence coming over me and a voice told me, "Go ahead look down the barrel, nothing will happen to you." So I did and then the voice said, "Now, put your finger on the trigger and show them you can do it and that nothing will happen to you." I too did this and the next thing I remember was opening my eyes and seeing the sky above me, so I stood up and everything was spinning out of control. I then stumbled into the house and my parents rushed me to the hospital. I remember bits and pieces of everything that happened from this time until I was finally released from the hospital a month later. I don't remember saying this, but according to my mom and grandmother, while I was in the hospital, I had told them that I had died and saw God and that He told me, "It's not yet your time, you are one of my chosen ones." I don't remember saying this and I have no recollection of seeing God or anything, just the voice telling me to basically shoot myself and then waking up on the ground. The doctor's even said that there is zero reason that I survived because the BB traveled into my eye and halfway through my brain (the BB is actually still in it's same place in my brain to this day). Ever since this incident, my life has been nothing but complete misery and hell and it just keeps getting worse as the years and days go by and I don't know if it has anything to do with any of that, but I can see how it would. So basically, I committed suicide and came back to life, so does this mean that when I do die that I am going to hell? I've always had this strong feeling like I am destined for hell and after thinking about this, it's really freaking me out. Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated because like I said, I'm really freaking out over this since I began thinking about it.

Just some thoughts (and no I am not dogmatic on this):

First, the only path to hell is to reject Jesus Christ.
If you are revived you were never really dead. Having your heart stopped is step one . According to Genesis man was not alive until a spirit was imparted so it is only when your spirit leaves your body that you are really physically dead.

This part I am dogmatic about-
do not listen to those "voices". God is good, very real and merciful and that was not His will for you.

jeffness,

You only have a few threads on TJ but, from what I have seen so far, you strike me as Biblically and Spiritually confused and even lost.

Your current thought of your "Near Death Experience" with a bb gun is an example of this confusion and living in un-truth.

I also know that you have reached out to me in a PM before but with no further response from you. So, the only real answer I have for you, at this time, is that you are spiritually lost and still looking for the truth, which is not in you.

For you and others reading, I tell you that your current experience has nothing to do with salvation. God said that, " the only unpardonable sin is unbelief. That means that their is absolutely nothing that will send you to Hell, except your rejection of the saving Grace found in Jesus Christ.

Now your belief in this Grace comes from a understanding of the three principles that are involved: the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Until you come to grips with those three basic principles, you will remain lost and confused. I suggesst that you start reading the Bible with the full intent of undertanding these principles.

Until you start searching God's word, with the help of the Holy Spirit", will you finally come to an understanding.

And at some point in your journey, this is a must:
You must do something similar to what is said in Romans 10: 8-10.
Doing so, will be the "Crowning Moment" of your spiritual birth and YOUR understanding of God and His purpose for you!

Dear Jeffness,

God is love; He is full of forgiveness. You just need to ask for it and be sincere. Do not be afraid of God- He is your friend. He saved your life once and He will save it again- just give Him the opportunity to do so.

Do not think that God is punishing you. He is probably testing your faith by allowing you to have problems in your life. Rather than being afraid of Him, turn to Him. Celebrate Him. Do not only believe in Him- trust Him. Read the Bible. You may have committed a sin (even though that is a bit dubious), but He has given you a wonderful opportunity to be born again.

God loves you and wants you to be happy- and the best way to achieve happiness is to rely on Him. God bless you.

Salvation is GOD giving us a New Spirit!
killing your self is evil !if not saved ? You go to a worse place , nothing is better there!
If a child of God? then your not Serving the LORD as HE wants you Too and your hurting all those people you would have helped!

Maybe many would go to hell , because you were not here to bless them with truth and Love ! or to sow the seeds where others real or reap where others have sown?
killing your self is NEVER the answer!

It would depend on their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ at the time of the death. If they died having accepted they were sinners and that Jesus Christ purchased their salvation by His death, burial and resurrection. they would not go to hell.

Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Gal 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

SALVATION is a TRUE NEW BIRTH!

It would depend on their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ at the time of the death. If they died having accepted they were sinners and that Jesus Christ purchased their salvation by His death, burial and resurrection. they would not go to hell.

I would agree.
Scripture is clear that the only sin attributal to man's spiritual death is the sin of un-belief.

Suicide

First of all, no one can judge you or say your are spiritually lost or still searching God.
In the Bible we read how Jesus and the Apostles chased out many demons in people. Demons still continue doing the same thing but there is no Jesus or Apostles going around chasing the demons out of people.
Also, we can't blame always the demons as being we are imperfect, our brain also can have a brain attack, exactly like we have a heart attack.
A nerve in your brain may have had something happen and at that moment made you hear a voice that said to do what you did. You see people who commit suicide don't even know they are doing it.
Many who have returned from a suicide don't remember and say it's like they are out of their body, like not themselves. Because it is completely unnatural to take ones life. Unless a demon entered you ..which they still do..you had a brain attack and did what you did not knowing even why.

Don't worry, my friend, God doesn't send people into the Lake of Fire that easily. Those judging you might be the ones ending in the Lake of Fire. Don't forget that God said when Jesus would return and when Satan will be sealed in a bottomless pit for 1000 years that all of us will have a second chance because Satan will be no more around to decieve us and make us wonder or doubt.

God said that He would take out our hearts of stone and give us a heart of flesh and He would pout His laws into our hearts of flesh so that we never ever sin again. Which means once we pass on judgement day..we will have hearts of flesh with God's laws written into our hearts of flesh and we will always obey God and do the right thing.

Hell doesn't exist..as God will not send people to suffer as if you are thrown in fire..you are destroyed completely.

Don't worry about what happened. What is important is are you being treated for this incident so that it doesn't happen again because as a heart who has a heart attack, it means there is a scar and in your brain there probably is a scar where it happened.

What were the results of the tests of your brain? Are you on medication right now?

If you love God and strive to be a First Fruit don't worry about your suicide attempt as you were not responsible and didn't do it on purpose. You are suffering you say, of what? What is causing your misery? Do you suffer from schizophreina? Depression?

What happened was not your fault. God will not punish you for what happened. Think of it, who in anyone's right mind would kill oneself? No one..something happens un-normally for anyone to commit such an act.

I spoke to many insurance people and told them that suicide should not be excluded in the insurances because the brain like the heart can have an attack. The brain isn't protected from damages ..like the heart it can break, it can bleed, it can have a attack. So now, insurances do put a clause ..after two years if you do commit suicide the insurance is valid. They listened.

Just keep praying my brother, soon, Jesus will return to establish His Kingdom and all will disappear what we are all suffering.

BE patient, don't worry, put yourself in God's hands, we are living in the End Times soon the 4 horsemen are going to ride. So prepare your self instead for what is to come and don't worry, God knows your heart, we don't so no one can judge you as if anyone does then they should first by taking their straw out of their eye.

I will pray for you my brother. Know that there is someone out there who is praying for you. When you go to bed at night know that I will be praying for you.

Take care of yourself..God is present.. He will hear your prayers.:announcementfly:

Jesus gave us his Word as a road map for life. When we become His children we are precious in His sight. Although I believe that it grieves the Holy Spirit deeply when we don't place a high priorty on the life that he has breathed into us (Gen 2:7), He also knows our frame that we are but dust. (Ps 103:14) I pray that Jesus will help you to see how much you mean to Him. He loved you so much He gave His life for you. May you and I honor Him by living for Him.

That is the spirit

:groupwave: VERY WELL SAID, WE MUST PRAY FOR HIM INSTEAD OF JUDGING HIM AS JESUS PAID A HIGH PRICE FOR US EVEN THOUGH WE WERE UNWORTHY. EVEN THOUGH MANY TIMES GOD'S CHILDREN DISAPPOINTED HIM, MADE HIM ANGRY TO THE POINT HE REGRETTED MAKING MAN AND WAS GOING TO DESTROY THEM ALL BUT ONE..NOAH FOUND FAVOR IN HIS EYES AND WE ARE HERE BECAUSE OF NOAH.

THIS WORLD IS SATAN'S AT THE MOMENT, BECAUSE OF HIM WE SUFFER ALL KINDS OF ALIMENTS, DISEASES PHYSICAL AND MENTAL.

THEREFORE, WE MUST UNITE AND PRAY FOR OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO HAVE TROUBLE IN THIS EVIL WORLD.

.... Well praise the Lord you weren't blind and saw the sky when you opened your eyes!!
My next thought is that you were ten years old...just about the age spiritual warfare should begin. I would be inclined to think it was before your full understanding of making good decisions. Looking into the barrel of a gun, BB or otherwise; is never going to be a good decision :)

There are controlling spirits roaming this earth with the intent of seeking and destroying anyone who God has chosen. Some people like to say that Satan does all this...but he is not omnipotent, and these imps fell with him from God's grace, and are now slaves to their father the devil, seeking whom they will destroy next.

A child does not really grasp this concept, so that may excuse the listening to the "voices". When we become adults, we fully understand the concept of right and wrong, enduring and giving up, seeking the face of God or looking in a direction that does not wear on the soul and brings quick satisfaction. (Bet you wish you could audibly hear the voice of God as profoundly everyday, I do!)

I am not sure I am sold on suicide being an easy ticket into heaven, it is completely giving up on God's will in my opinion, a final decision into rebellion against God, with no breath left to repent. The bible says that there is absolutely nothing that can separate us from the love of God, but ourselves.

I know some believe the once saved always saved theory, backed with scripture stating truth of forgiveness, but someone really has to understand the concept on Believing on the Lord Jesus, it means ALL things, not just here and there things. It is the leavening, if you have the truth of God, it goes through the whole loaf of bread, believing on the Lord is not just a cracker here and there.

If a person is sold out to God, suicide is not an option, it may be a temptation, but never an option because one understands it goes against the will of God, it is a final decision to turn your back on the Father of all things, the creator of your life, our redeemer, our comforter, Jesus Christ.

From childhood to this day, my life has been as you stated like a living hell, but I always have the hope of the Glory of God. He is in me and through me and around me and for me, He is ALL I need, even if I am living in my car or under a bridge, being hated or tormented.

That is why we need to stay full of His spirit, so that when the trials and temptations come, we are already prepared to do that battle, many times won just by praising His name and giving thanks for the very things that we are battling. When we resist, it is like the clock to His return ticks a little faster.

If someone dies and comes back, for any reason, it is another day to Give God the Glory and seek His will in your life. We were all destined to hell, that is why he gave his life as the ransom for our sin. Just praise the Lord when you feel this way, He inhabits the praises of His people, don't fall for the lies of those imps anymore!! God is ABLE!!
